Hydraulic Switch Relay-undersized
I apologize for this question because I know it has been covered before. When opening/closing my slides on my Montana, they stop and start. I know the relay is undersized from forum discussion but do not know what the relay looks like. Also, where can I buy a larger amp relay? Thank you in advance! Pictures would be appreciated.

80 Amp is what most of us have replaced with. Do a search on MOC, there are pictures posted of specific brands by members. I used a Blue Sea 80A breaker, but have no picture. Several brands available out there. Follow the power cable from the pump and it will take you to the breaker mounted on the back wall of the storage compartment. I replaced two.

Actually it is an auto reset circuit breaker. You probably have more than one. But the one to the slide pump is the only one people have had problems with.

Keystone had Camping World replace mine under warranty years ago and they got the 80amp one from an auto parts store.

The cheap automotive bi-metallic breakers are available at automotive stores. If you want something of quality...then it is one designed for boats or diesel pushers and these can be found online or at places like west marine. Prices from $30 some to $56. There are pictures of the automotive ones as well as the good ones in the archives. John

You may not want to install an 80 amp breaker, as your wiring may not be as large as the newer rigs that had hydraulic leveling in addition to the hydraulic slides. I would not install a breaker that has an amp rating higher than your wiring can handle. If your system has been working fine up to this point, it might be better to get a heavy duty type breaker to replace the cheap bi-metal style, and stay with the same amp rating.

Bought one of these from WayTekwire.com:
Bussmann 181080F-01-1 80A Circuit Breaker 30V, Thermal Surface Mount
Got to the point that the breaker would trip ever 10 seconds or so. Made for a long process to break down camp.

Bob makes a good point. If your wire is not at least 4 ga you might consider some thing less than the 80 amp. If the old one is 40 amp, try a 50 amp and see if that solves the problem. If not then try a 60 amp, again being careful not to exceed the wire rating. Or just go up to the max wire rating to start.
When mine first failed I just replaced it with an identical one. Worked for a year before it started failing again. So apparently the original was just a little below what it actually needs.

Maybe this will help to understand amp ratings as they apply to wire size.
http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm
Perhaps you can look at the wires connected to your current breaker (it's usually printed on the wire) and refer to the chart.
I replaced mine with an 80 amp and it works fine with fully charged batteries or shore power.
