I am planning a winter trip this year. My question is during cold or freezing weather on travel days do you leave your tank heater on while traveling and what about the water in the pipes and hot water tank? I never. Have done this type of trip and looking for advice. Thanks in advance. No

I usually dump my tanks before travel, so I don't need to run the tank heaters. As far as the pipes and water heater tank, if the rig is warm when I leave, it's generally warm enough for travel since we typically only travel 4-5 hours a day. If it was in the single digits or below zero, I think maybe I'd dump the water heater and empty the low point drains, and maybe even use the air compressor to blow out the lines before travelling.
