Water Dripping Near Fifth Wheel Hitch After Rain

During a rainy 10 day camp out I noticed water dripping from under the front cap by the 5th wheel hitch. All the caulk looked good before the trip. The side seams on the cap looks like silicone, but what I can find online - they say to not use silicone. What is the best type / brand to use? online says Proflex RV gets yellow and crusty after a year.

Do you have a washer dryer in the front closet? Check there for a leak that could manifest at the hitch. Mentally trying to follow a cap leak to the point of dripping out at the hitch twisted my brain. I mean…it could happen I suppose…but check there washer dryer plumbing area also.

Yes there are washer connections in the front, passenger side - never used. I'll have to figure out how to get behind the wall.

I’ve had water leak from around my hitch when my grey tank backs up to the washer drain pipe. It’s the path of least resistance when the great tank is full. We’ve been full time for 6 yrs now and this happens when I forget to open the grey tank back up after flushing the black tank. Between showers and laundry it fills up pretty quickly. I had a drip in the laundry hook up area due to me bumping the washer hook up valve. To prevent that, and to save me time winterizing it, I followed the hose back to the basement where it 'Tee's' off, and cut both plastic line and inserted a ball valve to shut off both hot and cold water lines. Easy fix and prevents a mess in the closet. If I ever install a washer, I can simply turn the ball valve back on and use it again. The hose was easy to follow back to the wet bay area. It did require me to remove a wall in the basement. It was easy.

Had the same leak on our 2019, It was one of the small round running lights at the top of front cap was not pushed all the way into its hole. It was very difficult to push in but once I had in properly leak stopped.
