Hello All, I’m looking to upgrade my suspension, I now have the Road Armor system on my 2020 -3120rl legacy. I’m looking at the Roadmaster Slipper Springs Suspension, with the added shocks and the cross member. Has anyone upgraded their Suspension using the Roadmaster systems. Please let me know if it is worth upgrading. Thanks in advance Colo Ric and Pat.

I like what I see with the slipper springs. Closest you are going to get to independent suspension without laying out the big bucks for something like More Ride. If I ever do anything different with my rig, that would be the way I would go.

I installed exactly what you describe on my 2019 3121RL about 3 years ago. We make the same run to the beach about three times a year and prior to the install the chains from my ceiling fan would always be all wrapped around the blades and the pillows on the couches would be in the floor etc. Now when we arrive everything is still right where it was and the chains are hanging straight down. I am also no longer worried about a potential broken spring as I have seen quite a few folks on here have. It may not be Morryde IFS, but it is a vast improvement over the stock set up, a fairly easy install and a bargain compared to the IFS. I highly recommend it..

I installed this complete system , we needed to replace 1 of the CRE 3000 due to a bad bushing so I went ahead and changed everything to the Roadmaster complete suspension kit (with shocks). I added 2 MORyde X-Factor braces as well (front and rear hangers). We've had the rig out about 9000 miles or so since the change.
There were ride improvements over the bridge transitions and rougher roads, pot holes, etc... we noticed a faster recovery of the bounce, The RV didn't seem to drag or "jerk" the truck as much when it was going over some of these like it did with the factory suspension. This system seems to handle the rough roads better than the factory suspension. The RV and all of our "stuff" doesn't seem to get beat up and bounced around like it used to. We also installed the Gen-Y pinbox at the same time. Best thing next to the independent suspension system (that was just not in the price rage for us). No regrets, I'd do it again if we buy another without the IS.
I made this change after a suggestion from the folks at Affinity last year. I needed the suspension repair and was looking at different options, discussed it with the Affinity team while I was picking the rig after having the frame flex repairs done. I'm not regretting it. I ordered all the parts through E-trailer, it does need longer U-Bolts, factory size are just a bit short to be comfortable. I did do the install myself on a Saturday.

My OEM springs are flat, so I need to get something done. I’m looking into getting Roadmaster Comfort Ride system + two Morryde XFactor braces. Got pricing from Performance Trailer Braking ( out of OK).
Materials and parts are about $2800. They estimate the labor to be ~$1100. They have a network of installers that will come do the work at your S&B or campground or wherever your rig is located. I am waiting to hear if they have a guy that works Central Texas area. Ordering off of etrailer is about $200 cheaper because the shipping is free. I am waiting to hear from the installer before pulling the trigger.

I got some names of 10 or so “dealers” from Roadmaster (San Antonio to DFW). I called a few today to see if they were familiar with the system and what is a ball-park cost. It was a waste of time…”yeah - I’ve heard of that system and I think we do sell and install it…let me check and I’ll call you back.” I’m not holding my breath. I plan to call a few more tomorrow. If Performance Trailer Braking can find an installer to come to my S&B, I like that option a lot better than driving to Dallas or San Antonio.

I got the springs and the shocks. Seems to be a lot smoother and a lot less bouncing. Installed it myself went fairly simple except for one hiccup at the end. They were good and sent me new shock brackets that were a little bit longer.

For those interested, this week’s video from the kids over on Wild RV Life you tube channel shows the install of the Roadmaster system on their toy hauler. They had Performance Trailer Braking do the work.
Don’t let the video title scare you….the Roadmaster system isn’t the mistake.

We follow them also. That is who i contacted to get pricing. These guys seem to know the Roadmaster system. I had no idea they were based in OK. After watching the video i assumed they were in FL where Craig and Victoria got the system put on their Brinkley. I looked them up and sent an inquiry. The next day they sent me a detailed list of items to measure on my coach to get a quote. I sent it back and had a price the next day. I am waiting to see if they can find an installer interested in doing the work at my house.

They will send their installers but you may have to wait until they are in the general area with other installs.

I had new hubs, brakes, backing plates put on the rear axle and new springs in January.
The shop did a good job, but reading through this thread, I wish I would have researched the topic and planned the work. I had it in the shop for something else and I asked them to look at the suspension because the 5th Wheel leaned to the left. The new springs alone was a huge improvement. The rig is straight up and tows better.
