Jefferson,
While spending a few days at our little hideout among the beautiful White Spruce and Balsoms of east central WI, we tuned up the tv and programmed in a whopping six channels, all from central WI. That part is O.K.. This part is not. Whenever DW would open the door to go outside the tv would lose signal and regain it when the door was closed! What do you all think? Gremlins or just remote location?

You don't state year and model of your trailer.
Does your door have a light switch on it?

The light switch is an interesting option. If that isn't the issue, as previously said, many of us have had to tighten and in most cases replace our coax connectors.

Our unit is 2013 3400RL. It does have a light switch in the door frame, but what effect would that have? Thanks for the help. I've checked all the connections I could find.

Hickory,
The amplifier for the local TV is 12v dc powered as is the light for the door. So I suggest you isolate the unlikely but connected interaction. Go into the bed room and watch the green light on the TV/Cable box. When the green LED is illuminated it is sending power to the outside TV antenna amplifier. Have your wife open the door and see if that light goes out. Logic says it should not but, your open door has something to do with your problem.

The bad coax connecter is a great idea no mater what is causing this problem.

Good luck and let us know what you find.

Safe travels.
