TST failure

I took a tire in today because it wasn't holding air. The tire placed called and asked about my monitoring system. The TST band had broken completely apart and was wearing down the inside of the tire. Has anyone else had this happen? See picture. Not sure how I feel about the other 3 tires on my trailer at this point. Thoughts on this.

For peace of mind, you could have the other tires broken down and their bands inspected. First time I've heard of a band failure, so suspect that your's is an isolated case

We had one break but the others are okay. We will likely change to another sensor... one that I can get to without removing the tire.

I know the internal ones are supposed to be more convenient, but I still prefer the exterior ones. Easy to monitor and check.

To JSB5717... What brand are you using.

It's still TST. I have the TST 507 with the color display, range extender, and Flow Thru sensors. It's basically the same system, just with external sensors. Many on here have the same setup. It's easy to keep an eye on the sensors and change batteries as needed.

If you've already got the display and perhaps the range extender then I would think that you should be able to just get the new sensors. I don't know if the internal system uses a different display or if it's compatible with the external sensors. I would check but seems like it should work.
