Trouble Finding Sailun G or H Rated Tires in San Antonio

Mt original tires were aged out, Thought I could ride them out back to WI. Well that didn't work out for us. In Deming NM I checked the tires before leaving a winery we stayed at. I knew the 2 on the door side were worn but when I checked them that morning and found the front one had slipped a belt I think as half of the outside tread was gone. So I put the spare on and continued our journey. Figures I could order Some new H rated Sailuns and get them installed in a few days when we arrived in San Antonio. Well that was a pipe dream, Nobody wanted to work with H rated tires and could not get them! I could not find Sailun G rated anywhere, One dealer told me that the G's were not available and the factory didn't have a new production date set. MARVELIOUS! So I had a big decision to make, I didn't want to install Hartland tires which everyone seemed to have. So I did some research and settled on G rated Carlisle CDL 16 tires. I worked for Carlisle for quite a while and was somewhat comfortable with my decision. The rating was the same and the tread was actually deeper then the Sailuns. So far We traveled from San Antonio to KY with no issues! And don't get me started on Discount tire! Needles to say I will not be doing business with them again! Wish me luck they are made in China. And on top of it all our spare tire hanger under the rig broke at the winery, so we have the spare in the back of the truck! Hope things get better from here. Stay safe out there!

Good luck! I feel for you! I can write a book about problems with truck and rig(s). LOL Up to the peak of one summer blowing the engine, fan in replacement bearings shot so another fix, tire blew on rig in Wy, then another tire 20 miles from home in AZ. This was all one summer! Worst thing was I had 2 sites at fishing bridge reserved for 9 nights and had to cancel. Life goes on!

Looks like Simple tire has lowered their price recently those H's were $230 a couple weeks ago . The one time I did order from Simple , the tires were just older than I wanted , I sent them back ,the customer service was great , but thats about it for me that time . I turned around ,and ordered 5 from Walmart same Sailuns , lower price ,and had them in two days .

Order 4 new H Sailuns last week ,mine were aged out . Again from Walmart . They were $189 ea. Got them in 2 days to the doorstep last week . Took my old ones off , did the bearings while they were off . Took them to Big O ,charged me $125 to mount ,and balance . Back on the fifth wheel ready to go .

Put my old G rated Sailuns ST 235/85/16's on Facebook for $200 for all four , with a disclaimer they were six years old ,looked new , not a lot of miles ,no cracking separations or anything . Sold in an hour to a guy that wanted to put them on a horse trailer that didn't get used much , cautioned him about them , he said he didn't care . He said they were much better than what he has on the trailer . I suspect thats all they run on that trailer used tires .

I just got on Simpletire , reason is I got on there last week ,and now today the best is 227.43 for the ST235/86/16's H rated , the 80's H rated are 206.96 . Is there some discount you got you could share for others , I have already got mine , but $186 is a pretty good price for either size ,better than anything out there as far as I could find , other than Walmart on a discount we got , 10% employee .

I bought Carlisle last fall from DT. They were a year old already. Sent them back and ordered 4 more. Same dates. They had the warehouse check their dates. All the same. DT gave me a pro rated price on top of the discount they already gave me because i had already lost a year of use. Couldn’t complain about that. They were also from china but from all my research they had no issues with their China made tires. According to their website site all new production for trailer tires have been moved to the Tennessee plant. There is still China inventory in warehouses they have to work through. I think we will be fine with these Carlisle tires. DT treats me good as I have bought lots of tires from them over the years. It all depends on who you are dealing with and the management of that particular store. Happy trails!

UPDATE: I gave them a very poor review due to aged tires, not being able to properly inflate them and lack of integrity of their counter person, Lying to me about the date codes on the tires. I hit the submit button and not more than 5 minutes later I received a call from them. We discussed the multiple issues I had and they offered to completely refund my money to make it right! Well, Needless to say I wasn't going to argue with him and the next day sure enough I had a full refund. I am amazed! They stood up and made it right! Now I just hope the tires stand up to their part of the bargain. Thanks for all your input on this!
