The original poster asked how many members use a TPMS and whether there are recommendations after several years with a TST 507 that seems to be failing too often. Several members said they use the TST 507, with mixed reports: some have had years of reliable service, while another has noticed more false alarms, odd temperature readings, and occasional chirps, sometimes when passing semis.

Members also mentioned EezTire as another TPMS in use, and one member noted that TST sensors may show...

How many of you use a TPMS for your RV’s?

I’ve used TST 507 for the last few years but think it is starting to fail to many times. I’ve looked a Tireminder, Guta, Tymate and many others, any recommendations?

TST 507 on both the Monte and the motorhome.
I have noticed more “false alarms” in the last year.
I have not figured out a common cause. It has always chirped from time to time when an 18 wheeler passes by…no idea what kind of mojo those guys are emminating.
I have learned to quickly look at the display and silence it, and wait for it to clear up on its own. Sometimes it will flash a ridiculous tire temperature like 265*…I look at the other tires, look in the mirrors…YEAH, RIGHT! wait for it to reset.
I do like knowing what the cold pressures are in the morning without having to get down on my knees and checking each tire!

I've had TST 507 on the truck and RV for 8 years; no problems at all; works great.

I lost a tire before I had a TPMS , I have no idea how some drive while towing a fifth wheel ,but I am in my mirrors often . What happened with ,a Sailun ,I must have gotten a leak or whatever . When I looked in my drivers side mirror the tire was smoking ,could see small pieces coming off it , I was running flat for how long I don't know , ,and it finally was starting to come apart ,and was smoking , to Sailuns credit it did hold together very well .

My point in posting this is , tire monitors or not , it's a good idea to keep an eye out in your mirrors . If I hadn't that tire would have eventually started coming apart ,and would have done some damage .

We’ve had the TST 507 for about 3 yrs. No problems. This thread and the points about failure and chirps got me reading up on battery and o-ring life.

No specific info on battery life but the manual states the display will show a low battery icon, sound an alarm, and eventually will stop sending readings. I’ve also often left them on the wheel during storage which the manual states will shorten battery life - make sense as the tire pressure turns them on.

From a quick web search, I came across info that chirps can be caused by a passing semi since their repeater systems can have strong signals and interfere.

Snips of low battery and troubleshooting section. (You may need to look up your specific model depending on when it was made).

I have installed the Ford TPMS that is integrated with my F350. I love it.
Yes there is a extra cable to plug in next to the 7 pin.
Its hardwired thru the trailer via access to the coroplast cover underneath the trailer.
Benefits are there- No additional items on my truck Dash no blue tooth issues.
The truck built in display menu includes trailer pressure and temp.
It also include a trailer rear view camera if installed/wired.

A Note.
I had a tire on my truck fail-tread separation-indicated by rough or out of balance feeling.
At point of failure tire temps and pressure were good so no alerts just a rough ride.
A TPMS is a beneficial tool, but not fool proof.

I use 2 Tire Minders. One system with 10 sensors on my Montana, and the second system on our Class A has 12 sensors. Both are the top of the line. Both sets give 'N05' alarms almost every hour. That is the 'No Signal' code. I have both systems on the external powered boosters and it always fails. I put new batteries in several times each summer. I do like the system. I can see the PSI and temps. That is great. But the error codes drive me nuts. They always clear themselves. Small price to pay for peace of mind.

Tire minder here. Saved me once with a rapid pressure decrease warning and I did have a blowout in a parking lot once and it did alarm within seconds on the latter

Just a FWIW, I've been using the same TST flow-through sensors, and the same monitor for the last 13 years. Yes, an occasional glitch, but not often enough to fuss over. I remove the sensors over the winter storage and keep them inside. The monitor stays in the unheated truck. It has alerted when I had a blowout, and when I had a slow leak. Absolutely no complaints.
