Tools in my new 3850FL

Hello all,
I found these tools in one of the drawers of my new Montana 3850FL. Any idea what they are for? Thanks in advance.

my thoughts are the flex tools for the slide out motors. they look like the ones we have, do you have the cable system for your slide out if so this is the tool to put in a cordless drill and manually open and close the slide out.

Have to wonder if someone at the factory is missing some tools from their tool box.

I think they come with the electric slide models. We have similar tools that came with our 3750FL with the electric front slides.

We ever got any with our trailers, but do carry. As indicated Flex drives, many uses, but specifically required for emergency slide operation with an electic drill.

Hmmmmm, during the PDI my dealer went over manual operation of the slideouts. We were also shown how to manually operate the landing legs with a crank-type tool. Sounds like this was missed. Even though there's hydraulic slideouts in my rig, the principal of needing to know how to manually use them are the same and should have been covered. I'm jes' sayin'.

Thank you all. I do have two electric slide outs on the front of my 3850FL. My dealer PDI consisted of a young lad who said he wasn't real familiar with this model and asked if I had any questions. THAT WAS IT! SERIOUSLY. That was the orientation.. That's why I feel a bit behind the curve trying to figure out everything new in this new rig, although I really do love it. Fortunately I had some prior experience with Montana as I had a 2005 3400RL. Also, fortunately, I am a member of MOC as you all have been a real help.

What dealer did you get your rig from? That was a Terrible Orientation!!

We bought ours at Greenway RV in Wisconsin Rapids.

They do manually operate the slides with the motors and cables. Next time you get in your rig take a peak at the middle of the slide at the top. There you will find the motor that you have to connect this coupler to which operates the slide manually. Very difficult, I hope you don't have to. I did.

Well, at least you had another rig and you only have to handle what's different like electric slideouts and a few other minor features that I hope you can get answers from the MOC. Can you imagine what a newbie would have to go through on a new Montana? Maybe since you were a prior owner and they knew it, they didn't give you the time you deserved.

I think one of the funniest question a person can get with a new product is "Do you have any questions?". You should have said, "Yes! How does EVERYTHING work"

Quietwoods RV in Sturgeon Bay. It was exactly the model we wanted so we bought it from them. It has not been a good experience so I really don't want to take it there for warranty adjustments. I really wish I could find a dealer (or even a fellow 3850FL owner) who could do a post delivery orientation. I live in Greenfield.

We did not get a flex drive with out new coach, will ask for one while getting warranty work done the week before the Rally starts.

Hey Chiefkb.. How come you got two of those tools? Do you need two in order to manually slide the thing out? If you only need one, I think you got Recumbent's. If you do need two of these, then let Recumbent know so that he acquires two of them during his warranty visit.

I don't know if I need two of these flex drive tools as I have no idea exactly how to use them. I'm still trying to figure it out. More later.

ChiefKB: As I mentioned earlier, we bought our Montana at Greenway RV in Wis. Rapids. They were very good to deal with. We had to take it back there for some warranty work and they did a good job on our rig. I would recommend you try them if you need some work done or need help. We used to live in Green Bay and went to Quietwoods RV several times and were never impressed with their staff. Most of the time they acted like they were doing you a favor by just talking to you.

We also received two of these tools with our trailer, I was shown how to put one of the tools into the hydraulic pump in case it failed to operate the hydraulic slides and landing legs. The other might be for the cable slides, but no one showed me how to retract them if the motor fails.

I didn't get these tools with my 3750!! Anyone with 2 willing to sell one?

We did not get one either. We were told to get a 1/4 " hex drive to put into the top of the hydraulic pump in case it failed. Since our's is a 2012 perhaps they overlooked it. I am goiing to call a contact at the factory and send him the picture above and ask what' s up. I will report back what I hear on Tuesday.

They are used for your slides if they don't open by electric motor.
