Trying to determine what style or brand of toilet I have. Need to fix leak when foot flush is activated. I have a 2010 3455ss.
Thanks
Don

I google searched the forum and looked at past threads…I would bet the OEM toilet was a Thetford 42072. Many threads and many complaints. Most folks replaced it with Dometic 310 or 320.

I replaced mine with a dometic 320 and love it. If the bowl starts not holding water, you can spend about $8-10 and 5 minutes and have it fixed. I think I read that thetford requires removing the whole bowl from the floor!!!
Just this week my Dometic was having a drip from the foot pedal area. I read the valve may need replacing, but mine seems more like a rubber gasket. For now it seems to have stopped if I don't push the pedal way down and back but just push it down about half way, Fingers crossed!

twindman has it correct. The Thetford toilet has to be removed from the floor and then the bowl is separated from the pedestal. The new valve gasket is inserted and it's a mess and difficult to get everything lined up correct. Then FINALLY everything is put back together, appears to be fine and it's anchored to the floor again, reconnected with water and guess what .... the bowl still leaks water and odors still come up from the tank.

Well.... after 3 times doing this, I said enough was enough. Pulled the thing out one more time and replaced with a Dometic 310. IF the valve rubber starts leaking, it just pulls out from the inside the bowl, a new one is laid in it's place, push the peddle one time and it seats itself.

Do yourself a favor and get a Dometic. The difference between the 310 and the 320 is the 310 seat is more rounded, and the 320 is more elongated. If you want to install a bidet, then get the 310. The 320 has a lip on the back making it difficult to install a bidet without adding a riser on the bowl. So, there is a slight difference between the 2, more than just round or elongated.

What did I do with the old one? Well, I took a hammer, beat the thing up and broke it into a million little pieces, and let the trash truck haul it away. By breaking it up into a million pieces it didn't take much room in my dumpster and doing it over 2 trash pick up cycles, the dumper didn't get too heavy.

In order to remove my bidet of the old one, I had to bust out the back to get to the plastic bolts holding the seat on (and the bidet). They were so tight, I had to cut them off and reaching them was almost impossible. I can't remember HOW I installed that bidet, it's such a horrible design on that toilet.
