I would like to thank the members of the Montana Owner's Club for once again saving me time and money. This morning my wife commented that she smelled burning wire. We started smelling around and discovered it was coming from the area of the hot water heater. I remembered reading that the on/off switch outside had given many people trouble. I checked it out and the wires were melted off the switch. I cut the wires and spliced them together and wa-la my heater was working again. So, thank you experienced Montana owners for writing in and giving the rest of us the benefit of your knowledge and know how. I personally have benefited from it many times.

If you can extend those wires inside, you can mount a new switch inside, out of the weather. You can use any switch, even a household style switch, will eliminate any issues in the future

Glad the forum worked for you. It has saved my bacon more than once.

Too bad some of us ain't natural smart (at least that doesn't work in my case). I get my smarts from bad experiences, then pass on my new found knowledge and the recipient thinks I'm smart. Whatever works. A forum helps with this a lot.

Welcome to the form and the MOC Family. You are right about this place...Many great people and plenty of good knowledge here and they have saved me plenty of heart ache and money too!!
