At the recommendation of DQDick and others, I just purchased a Progressive EMS 50amp surge protector. Have to say, I am very impressed with the unit.

One thing I noticed is it appears that my A/C units are both on the same leg of the 50amp and are pulling 34amps when both are running? Does that sound right?
 
They should be on opposite legs. You may want to make sure everything is turned off, fridge ,water heater ,both air conditioners. Then see what the reading at your surge suppersor says. Then turn on living room AC. And see what. It reads then turn on your bedroom AC and see what it reads.
I had to run my RV on a generator for 13 days after hurricane Erma and I did that and wrote it down so I could conserve energy.
 
Mine only came with one unit but was pre-wired for a second. When I installed it I discovered both were on the same leg. Before I moved it to the other leg I determined what else was on both legs. Mined needed to be moved as the rest of the high usage items were pretty well balanced. Before moving yours determine what is on both legs with particular attention to high amp items like converter, micro wave, electric side of water heater and refrigerator, plug for coffee pot, and most importantly plug for DW hair dryer and curling iron. Your progressive display will make child's work out of this task.
 
I found that to be the case on my 06 3400.I had them separated. When we ordered our 13 3402 big sky we made sure the service center understood they were to be on seperate legs. They were.
 
I would want one on each leg, but if they do have both on the same leg you'll need to evaluate what's on the other leg and what could be running at the same time.

The amps sound about right. Your 15k should be running about 2 amps more than the 13.5k. They should be separate but who knows what Keystone does. Just be sure your microwave and fridge and fireplace are separate from your a/c's if they are in fact running same side. It's now easy to tell what's on which leg with the Progressive.
 
Jim, I think both of mine are on the same leg also. I will double check that when I get back there tomorrow. Where did you put yours? I pulled the breaker box out and it was just a mess back there so I put two holes into the cabinet above the box for the wire. The EMS didn't take up that much room in there and if anything should happen to it, it will be very easy to replace.

On advice of others I got the plug in version rather than hard wired.

I would expect that with both of us having the same floor plan that they would be wired the same. But then we are talking about Keystone.......
 
Interesting thread here. Just wondering when you have to go to a 30A dogbone which takes you down to 110v how does that work? Do you loose some of your outlets or appliances? I'm on a 110v at home but of course I'm not trying to run a/c cause I'm only on a 20A circuit, but everything else seems to have power.

A dog bone adaptor will jumper the single hot leg to both sides of your split bus in the RV. Keep in mind that your RV does not use 220/240V. While the 50A feed "may" and should have 220 between hot legs, the RV panel is only utilizing one hot leg to neutral for each side of the split bus. in other words the panel has two sides of 50A 120V.

OK, so that means both legs of the panel are in the same phase and therefore the neutral is carrying the total accumulaated current of both legs, which explanes why the pedistal breaker will trip so easily when running on 30A.
 
The 30 amp pedestal breaker trips very easy because it is only capable of providing 30% of what a 50 amp service is capable of. Your 50 amp service actually provides 100 amps, two 50 amp legs. You neutral only has to be able to carry the difference of the loads on the two hotlegs, and that is why almost all utility services have a neutral half or less than the size of the hotlegs, whether the service is overhead or underground.
