For several years I have had to deal with this off and on near the beginning of a trip and then for the first 2 to 3 weeks. It is almost always the hot water tap that smells. :( I have tried the bleach in the fresh water tank, flushing the hot water heater, etc. with only marginal results. That's not to say the fresh water tank didn't need sanitizing or the hot water heater flushing, but that didn't always fix the problem. ;) Just recently I noticed a post on this site that said it could be bad water accumulating in the washing machine lines that tap the lines near the bedroom sink. Ureka!!! Flushed those two lines with a short hose and bucket and away went the smell. I read most of the posts here and you usually can come away with some good advice or knowledge of an issue you have yet to encounter. Thanks all.

Had that problem for a while and when I replaced the black tank flush valve (was leaking) the smell went away?

Haven't had the problem in the Monty but our home kitchen sink sprayer does that. If we don't use it in a week or so the water from it smells like bad sulfur water and its city water.

We had that problem, too, and I installed a shutoff between the W/D lines and the main lines, and no more problem.

It's the safety valve in the vent system. Spring loaded and they get stuck. I have one under kitchen sink and one in bath room. Think it's called anti siphon vent check valve. Not all are the same. Very weak link in the system !
