Splendide washer door won’t unlock

Our splendide washer got hung up during the first load…first load in a year! It got to 52 minutes and stopped. Error code E1 F9. We restarted it for a shorter 19 min cycle…hung up at 17 min. Started following the reset instructions, unplug, reset…now red LOCK indicator is on full time…key icon is on…timer is blinking…see pic.

We have unplugged several times for 30 min…nothing changes.

Unfortunately i paid an RV dealer to install these…nothing changes idea how they got them in or what was the plan to get them out. The washer has water in it. Cant get to the drain filter at the bottom because there is a cabinet bottom fascia in the way (second pic) and i cant get to the screws from behind. Tomorrow i will go to Harbor Freight and buy a reciprocating saw (flat blade to plunge and cut screws?) and cut out the bottom so i can pull the washer out.

DW just wants to get her clothes out. Any ideas for unlocking the door?

Edit: never really noticed until NOW..but the water hookups are above the washer BEHIND THE DRYER! So I suppose tomorrow I will be figuring out how they installed the dryer so I can remove it - so I can get to the washer hose connections. The dealer left the shelf in and put the dryer on the shelf. (third pic) I assume this is the way all splendide washer + dryer are installed? Or are they supposed to to STACK on top of the other somehow? I will be taking all of this apart - I want to put it back right.

Did you try cleaning the pump filter?From the error code it appears there is a problem with the drain.

I don't think you have the same Splendide as we do (2100XC), but this is the procedure we use to manually open the door when it locks up.

Manual Emergency Release

• Behind the Kick Panel: Many Splendide models (like the 2100XC) have a hidden emergency release. Pop off the bottom kick panel at the front of the machine. Reach inside and look for a small green or black tab or cord. Gently pull or tug the tab downward to manually release the door latch.
• Note: Have a tray and towels ready before doing this, as any water in the drum will spill out.

Thankyou. I intend to try all of those procedures - as soon as I get the washer out of its current inaccessible straight jacket. What time does Harbor Freight open?

I m sure you found this already, but here is the AI explanation of manually unlocking the door. It doesn't address getting the washer out of a cabinet so you can remove the top cover.

I found the green manual lock release located bottom right on the front. It is held in place by a screw (blurry pic below)…which i could not get to the screw because of the piece of cabinet fascia across the bottom of the rough opening blocked access.

It took me a while to remove the fascia piece in order to get to it. I am not sure what i did or in what order (trying everything on youtube and everything i read) power on-off + pull the green release + push buttons in random sequences. Suddenly the display came on sort-of normal looking but showing error code F5 E3 and the door opened like magic.

Got DWs clothes out and got them washed at the campground laundry. Bailed all the water out of the drum…drained more water into a flat pan…cleaned a filter…re-attached/secured the feet…plugged in the power cord and a completely normal display showed up.

Im done working on this thing for now. I might call Splendide customer service for some wisdom and advice before proceeding further.

My washer is in an identical cabinet. It’s not easy, but you can lift the front of washer enough to clear that bottom piece. Mine has been pulled in and out 3 times so far.

I did call Splendide customer service some time ago when I could not get any air to move through it in the dry cycle (no air coming out of the vent outside). They walked me through how to do a deep cleaning of the unit to get all of the accumulated lint out of the works.

I won't get into that procedure (it worked) but the point is that customer service was great! This for a 15 year old unit at that time.

I cut the bottom panel out to gain access to the drain/filter and the green unlock lever.
When we get home, I will figure out how to reinstall it so that it can be easily removed.
The machine is working properly now.
