New guy here again,

I'm looking on adding Solar Panels on our 3750FL and I know not all Solar panels are not created equal.

What brands do you recommend?
Mounted or portable

Thank You,
Bob & Tina

This might turn into a borderline which hitch is better question. I am sure you will get quite a few specific brand and model recommendations. I however would suggest basing your choice on a price per watt scenario once you determine poly vs mono. PV panels are inefficient enough that that’s exactly how I decided on a panel choice. I would first focus on criteria such as voltage, size and chemistry... and if this is for just a couple of hundred watts I would not even stress over it. definitely buy the cheapest watts/$.

I agree with PNW Fireguy. Need to figure your usage, battery bank, and roof room. Research and find what’s best for you, your needs and most of all your pocket book. Myself I went with Victron charge Controller and battery Monitor as they are Bluetooth. For panels I used the same as what I installed on my house as I had 4 extra.

Good luck and looking forward to the responses.

I work in support. I always say, "The better the question, the better the answer".
You might want to go into how long you plan on being off grid.
you going to have a generator?
what kind of budget?
What do you want to run while off grid?
you get the idea.....

I would purchase the panels that had the highest voltage that can fit on your rig. You will get more gain out of your MPPT controller. They now have controllers that can manage the high voltage.
