Slide-Out Slicker

I found these on the Lippert site and was wondering if anyone has them and how they perform. Seems like a good thing.

We bought a set. They are hard to use on certain slides. We had to use them back wards and stand on the to keep them from sliding when starting the slide in. It was on the kitchen slide on a 3295Rk. Have since traded the unit off.

We bought a set of slickers from MIMF at the Goshen rally and I've been successful at using them about 90% of the time. I've learned that if I start retracting the slide just a little bit then slip the slicker in, it works well. My success rate on the end of the slide by the door, however, is about 10% ... the counter doesn't allow the slicker any "slipping room." Steve recently cut a couple inches off one ... will let you know if I'm able to improve my success rate at that slide location.

I think they do make a difference ... I'm not noticing any track marks on the living room carpet.

We use them on one slide. We can't use them on living room slide because its floor is raising up when it comes in and doesn't really ride on the floor. We do use them on the entertainment/storage slide. We have to bring the slide in about 6" and then I tip the top back while my wife inserts the square end under each edge of the slide about 1/4". Seems to work really well and we no longer have any marks on the floor.

After having our carpet replaced as a result of some "belly tape" peeling back under our kitchen slide and ruining the carpet, I was looking for something to help protect the carpet and looked at the ones you mention.
After thinking about it for a while, I made a trip to Office Max and bought one of the plastic floor mats that office chairs roll around on on carpet with the little "teeth" on the bottom. I cut a piece the size I needed and use it under the kitchen slide where the offending tape was located. I think I paid about 10 or 15 bucks for the mat and there's plenty left to make a couple of more if I need them.
I've encounted the same problem as some others, I have to bring the slide in an inch or two, then put the mat under the edge of the slide and stand on it until enought weight is on it to hold it in place.
With the little teeth on the back, I would not use it where it would rest on anything but carpet.

I have a set of the Slickers also. As has already been mentioned, the slides that are "flush mount" need to be pulled in a few inches to allow the slide to travel up the teflon ramp attached to your flooring ... otherwise your just pushing them across the carpet. I don't think they were ever intended for vinyl or wood flooring. They have made a difference in reducing the carpet wear that I had prior.
