We have a 2020 3811MS and the shower is slow to drain. There is no debris, and I can run the water directly into it without problem. Is there a special drain cover that allows air in? It seems if i let air in with my toe, while it is draining it seems to help. Any ideas?
Thank you in advance!
Tony

Typical hepvo drain valve is stuck most likely. It takes place of a p trap and they can clog with debris or stick closed due to lack of use. You can use your foot as a plunger or use a plunger gently to open it. Worst case it needs to be replaced.

Pour BOILING water down the drain.
Also try a box of baking soda followed by white vinegar. It will Foam up. Put something over the drain to block it coming up and force it down.
Follow with BOILING water.

Check HEPVO website for cleaning instructions.

Ours drains slow when hair accumulates over the drain. Like you, we drag our feet over the drain and it opens right up, dragging a bunch of hair that was unnoticed until it was bunched up. As long as the hair is kept clear, it drains good. So for the last 5 years we simply drag our feet over the drain and clean it out every time we take a shower. We haven't had any problems as long as we keep doing that. It's amazing how much hair fall off the body when taking a simple shower. And.... it took me forever to eventually realize, that all the hair is not coming from the top of my head. The other 99% of the human body has hair also and it breaks off and dies off too.

Yeah, it seems the older I get, the hair on top of my head goes back in and comes out in other places.

Good advice in the posting above! Just DO NOT put something down the drain like a wire or drain cleaning tool to clear it or use any harsh drain cleaners on it. These will puncture or dissolve the bladder within the valve and then it definitely will need replacing. Sometimes that replacing can be a challenge because of the location of the shower piping and having to remove the wall in the pass through or basement to get to it. The baking soda/vinegar is a good idea and normally works well. Good luck and happy camping!

I prefer to put a cup of Dawn liquid detergent in the drain and follow up with applying a weed blower to the drain to force the Dawn into the drain’s piping. I then follow that with hot water from the shower for a minute. One last blast with the weed blower restores normal flow.
