RV Refrigerator Failure Cutting Trip Short

Well, I've had it. This camper is a real disappointment. You may remember my postings 2 years ago when the frame failed and I had to engineer a repair.
This time We left home May 21 for a 105 day trip and it has been one thing after another. First the closet shelving collapsed, then the left front jack failed (a new jack btw), then slide out cables broke, then the trash drawer collapsed, then the right rear jack failed and now the last straw. The refrigerator. This refrigerator has got to go. I have posted on this forum before about it not cooling and it is happening again. 81 days into a105 day trip and we are throwing out food. I've done everything members have suggested, fans, burping, banging on the pipes, yada, yada, yada. I'm done, finished, ready to sell the whole dam thing. Thank God I have worked with equipment and been building all my life. Always carry tools and so was able to make repairs and keep us going. But enough is enough.
Cutting the trip short and going home.
If I ever calm down I will need to talk to you all about alternatives. Not fixing this pos. Real alternatives.
DW is pretty upset. She's afraid my rving days may be over. She might be right.

Sorry to hear this. Unfortunately, my Montana HC runs in spurts too. It will go along just fine for a while and then all of a sudden several things fail or break all about the same time.

Things breaking seems to be the "rule" not the "exception." I've threatened to get rid of mine also (many times), but then I remember I done so many fixes to this camper over the years, and fixes are done MUCH better than the original, I don't have the heart to dispose of all my work, time, money and effort keeping the darn thing going. So, I hang on to it.

FYI ... I ALWAYS carry 6 extra slide cables with me, ALL the time. I've replaced so many I can almost do it in my sleep now.

Yeah, your experience and mine run parallel. I keep extra cables. Always have tools. Always prepared to repair something on the road and then make a permanent and proper repair/ improvement when I get home.
As for selling it, DW agrees with you. We have so much blood and treasure in it that selling doesn't make much sense. And she loves it! The refrigerator is the big issue with me. I have to have a permanent fix. We'll see.

All except the fridge should be easy repairs for you. Like our local RV dealer says “they are all junk”.
