RV Park length limits

My wife and I are just about ready to purchase a Montana 3901RK. We currently own a Jayco 321rsts.
We are fairly new (3.5 years) to rv camping. We have traveled across the country (4 months) and the Northwest(2.5 months.) We are currently planning another cross country trip for next year.
We haven’t had any issues with the length of the Jayco at any rv parks. I’ve heard that it can be challenging to find parks that will accommodate a 42 foot 5th wheel.
So my question is: Has anyone had problems making reservations for a trip with a rv length over 40 feet?

Anything over 35' can be a problem in county camp grounds. Particularly in dry camping grounds. Most privately owned full hook up can handle just about anything. Example, in CA coastal county grounds, many have a max 30' length. So depends on where you plan to stay. What's your plans?

While some older parks (typically County and most CA State Parks) are a problem with a 40 footer, we haven't had any problem finding places for boondocking to FHU west of the Mississippi. OR and WA State Parks always have 40' spaces. Even shorter spaces will work if you can hang over the rear. That does require first hand knowledge from pictures, Google Earth or an actual visit. Private parks are far more accommodating of larger RVS.

We are heading from San Diego County to Florida, just east of Pensacola. Then to Jacksonville, along the coast to NC, Kentucky, Tennessee, then west into NM, maybe up into Colorado, Utah, Vegas, and home.
I’ve made some reservations that I know can handle a larger rv. Haven’t decided yet to purchase the Montana yet..

Hope this helps. This was one reason we chose 35' max lenght.
We have been to Yellowstone a few times. We have driven through all the campgrounds inside YS. There are very few sites we could fit into even though they list the site as 35'. Trees and other obstacles obstruct the site. When hitchedcwe are 53'. The Ford F350 has a terrible turning radius. It makes maneuvering into a site challenging.
Fishing Bridge (YS) we can get into no problem. In fact they recently expanded Fishing Bridge.

Never encountered a private RV park that couldn’t handle even the largest motor homes. The few state parks we stayed at had few, if any, sites that would fit anything much over 35’. A couple of COE parks we visited had some number of extra long pull thru sites that would easily handle it and some much smaller back in sites that wouldn’t.

Never had an issue in 6 years. We always check the length with the campground or posted reservation site. We are 41 feet.

My wife and I have a 3901RK and have never had any problems with campgrounds due to length. You may have issues with state parks, but regular campgrounds have never been an issue.

2016 3791RD bought in May of 2015. 41.5 ft long.
Camped in all 48 contiguous states, never had a problem with length.

We own a 2023 3901RK and have never had an issue getting into campsites. Sometimes you need to go slow and have the wife walk ahead when leaving but we have had no issues. We are considering selling our unit so send an email to jkxtreme@hotmail.com if you want more info or are interested.

We are just south of Jacksonville, Florida, in a little town called Green Cove Springs. The entire Jacksonville area is really nice with lots to do. Weather here is 83 degrees and mostly clear skies. We'll be here until November 6th then we head a little further south to a Webster Florida where we'll spend the winter.
