California just keeps getting worse. We received a letter from Liberty Mutual telling us that our new carrier would be Safeco Insurance. We had to call Safeco to find out what was going on. Liberty is no longer writing auto policies in CA. It turns out they own Safeco.... Our policy including the Monty, GMC truck and Toyota Camry increased by $1500 a year. Even after me retiring and dropping my mileage by 90%. Slowly chipping away at my discretionary income and pushing me out of CA.

What RV insurance company's are you all using for CA coverage. Can you include the tow vehicle?

For my Montana I don’t have any insurance. Then it’s hooked to my truck it’s covered, unhooked no insurance. My motor home I do carry insurance but not collision. I have the least on it Virginia will allow me to carry.

My Montana is insured with Nationwide. It is the only thing I have with them. All the rest (house, cars, and truck are with Hartford. My sister is also with Hartford and was told they are no longer writing insurance in CA. My policy expires in March and I expect the same termination.
She is moving her coverage to Mercury Insurance and it will include a price increase.

We’re down in the IE and have our 2018 F350 and 2020 Montana both insured by Progressive. Full time coverage on the Montana and full coverage on the truck. Just renewed both. No issues whatsoever.

Insurance for cars and homes are going up everywhere. We live in Indiana. Our home insurance has gone up 50% and car insurance 30%. We've never had a claim in 36 years.
I've heard insurance companies are pulling out of California and Florida.
I'm hoping to retire in the next five years. I may have to get a part time job just pay property taxes and insurance.

I have State Farm for all my autos and RV, Home Owners, and a few Life Insurance policies. They don't do full timers if I recall unless something has changed. RV is less than $100/month. I'm in Florida though, so YMMV.

We moved from Florida to SoCal late last year. Our RV insurance went down to $58 a month. As expected due to the crazy traffic in the area truck insurance went up a little. Combined we’re paying a little less than Florida.

Our son lives in St Augustine. His previous company said they wouldn’t renew him unless he replaced his 13 year old roof. He did and they still dropped him. He’s now on the state run “Citizens” insurance.

That's has happened a lot in Florida in the past several years. Pray for us!

We have Allstate on the trailer and cars. For the trailer, just under a $100/month for both collision and comprehensive. $500/$250 deductible, respectively. Comp is mainly for theft, fire, “other”. Actual cash value. 2021 3231CK Legacy. That is based on an a multi-car discount. Might adjust the deductible as it gets older and/or as the rates rise.

I have had State Farm for probably 30+ years. Great service on claims. I bundle it all, home, vehicles, which includes my two e-bikes. For full coverage on my Montana, it is costing me $468.00 for the entire year, and I'm in California.

That's amazing. About half what I'm paying in Florida.

We've had Progressive on all our vehicles for quite a few years. Added our Montana when we bought. Rates are reasonable and we've been happy with the coverage.

We are in Texas and have been with Safeco (Liberty Mutual) for years; however, I do NOT recommend them. I have some damage to our trailer - broken welds - and they are TERRIBLE to work with. In summary, they only do "desk reviews" for claims and refuse to send an adjuster out to look at damage. So, if they can't see it in photos - they deny the claim. They have gotten worse every year. Our trailer repair shop said that Progressive seems to be the best company to deal with from their perspective. Once this trailer claim is finished, we are looking for a new carrier for everything - house, vehicles, etc.

We were switched to Progressive by USAA when we bought our 2019 Montana (purchased new). Same rationale: they were no longer offering RV coverage. We've been happy with the Progressive. We're in Texas.

I live in Los Angeles, have National General on my 22 Montana, great reviews/coverage and reasonable premium. I had a claim after about 8 months last year (a pole jumped out and hit the side of RV). About $7,500 to six, National General super helpful, promptly handled the repair and payment. Yes my premium went up a little the next year, but ALL companies surcharge when it’s your fault. I am very happy with them.

Hello, we live in Texas and use Safeco for house, trucks, rv and utv. Great service and price. Maybe move from the left-coast to Texas?

I am in the insurance business in Seattle. The industry has had big increases. It been a crazy couple of year, alot had to do with losses and inflation. We call it a hard market Companies are leaving such as liberty you mention is not writing RV in your state. We represent Safeco and they have a great RV product. You said your rates went up 1500ish. It's not just Safeco. I suggest to my client is to stay with your current carrier, and yes even though you are going to safeco it is own by Liberty mutual and they take that in account. Now if you find a better price with a new carrier, you might be saving in the short term but they will have a rate increase and it will eat away your savings as well as it waters down your insurance history. The industry is really having issues and I hear California it really bad and Insurances companies are not writing much because of the fires and the losses. I hope this gave you a insight. Just hang in there.

We're based in Florida and are with National General. Our premium is just under $1K.
Progressive also provided a quotation at $1255.
Previously we lived on a 50 ft boat, also in Florida. Our insurance went from $3600 to $8500 in one jump in one year.
Insurance companies have had some huge payouts over the past few years so it doesn't surprise me. Also, their executives command VERY high salaries which have risen significantly over the past several years which also adds to the company expenses.
