Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shocks

I took a picture of my bracket. The flange of ibeam is 1/8” so don’t worry about adding anymore thickness for the self tappers to bite into.
As far as those square tubes being added after, they could be… but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen later model NorthPoints built like that.
Mine is a 2016 Northpoint. The bracket sits flush to the outside of the flange. You would probably have to hang your bracket off your 2”square tube a bit. The inside mounting holes are elongated, so you’ll be able to make the self tapper spacing work for your 2” tube.

If you call Comfort Ride, they have a tech line for tech help on questions like this. They can advise you.

I’m late to this thread, but it caught my attention.

We’ve got the same rig as you: 2021 3021RL.

The ride has been a constant issue since we bought it 11 months ago. We see lots of minor issues like the paper towels unspooled all over the place, but I had to pay to replace the thermostat and the wiring because the ground wire ran away from home. And now I need to replace most of the USB wall outlets because they’ve started to give out.

We’re chasing a lot of phantoms and I attribute most of them to the rough ride.

I’ll be interested to see if your suspension upgrades fix your issues.

Okay, I was thinking that also and yes that is what you said, I have heard of people still install them on this frame and the bolts have been backing out, not good, thank you for your comments.

Okay, I was thinking that If I could do it that way, it might have to hang over some but I'm okay with that, I have a 2023 North Point.,, that is about the same thickness.

Oh, one question, did you have to get longer U bolts?

Yes.
I ordered ones that were too long and cut them after with a grinder.
The grinder slipped on the last cut and I nicked my hydraulic brake line. 🤬

Ouch! I know that you didn't like that, I seen some longer one on Etrailer is there were you got them from?

Have you had the v-clips installed? We had the rear most hangers break last summer on our ‘21 and had the 2 hangers replaced and added v-clips. The part is about $8 ea from Lippert plus shipping. Local quotes for install are about $200 per hanger. (I’ll eventually get around to the other 4. We were in the middle of a trip and didn’t want to delay our schedule any more than necessary).

This looks like one of the brace options that I have seen. The interesting thing here is this is lipperts solution. Will look at that to secure the hanger.

Amazon.
These ones…they were too long. Close to running out of thread, but worked. I put the old top plate on top of the shock mounting plate also.

If your axel is on top of the springs, then It’s a whole different ballgame.

Yeah, I notice in the pics that the old top plate was still there, I had stop looking on installing these because I had other things that I needed to do, like repack my long awaited job and they were bad and plus we were thinking about trading it in for another 5th wheel, but now I guess that I will start back on trying to get it done before the summer or before we go out on a trip. Thank you for that I think that I will go to Amazon and put this in my cart.

I am trading in my NorthPoint on a new Montana Legacy 3235SP with MorRyde IS Should be in next week.

I just put on the shocks, new disc brakes, new equalizers, new leaf springs, MorRyde X brace, and new tires on the NorthPoint last spring. I really didn’t get anything extra for any of it on trade in value.

Really, you're kidding, I wish I were in your shoe right about now, but I am so glad for you, those are very nice, now were you over on the Jaycoowner.com forum I'm still there.

Can't wait to see the pics when you get it, we want something a little bigger than our NP 310RLTS so this is what we want to do. Did you get the body paint job on your Montana? I'm going to pull that up and look at it on google.

Yes, I’ve been at Jaycoowners since 2015.

The new Montana has Volcano paint.
I wasn’t planning on getting a new trailer, but I was getting tired of dealing with 40’. Started looking at 310RTLS… somehow that turned into a fully decked out Montana 3235SP that is 2000lbs heavier than my Northpoint and 39’7”. lol.

Awesome, this much be a new floor plan because I don't see it in google or even YouTube, so how long is the 3235SP? On the Jayco forum I'm Big1, I have been there 2015 also.

Oh, sorry 3532SP.
Yes it’s new. 39’ 2”.
My Jayco is 39’9”
So I didn’t really save anything on the length.

Lol, yeah I see, but at least that you have a new 5th wheel in the process, I look at that floor plan and I love it, the Jayco that my DW have been looking at is the Jayco North Point 381CKRE.

Oh, I wanted to ask you did you order the Comfort Ride RoadMaster from Etrailer?

I have it on my 2020 3931 Legacy it is great and I no two other MONTANA owners that have it and love it

Not sure about Roadmaster or MorRyde but the OEM system on my '04 I think the shocks were useless as they were installed. The angle they were mounted, I could not see how they could work, and the MorRyde rep who sold me my new All Trek 4000 system told me just to cut them loose and forget them.

I've got the same trailer as you. I put the slipper springs with shock and I added the Moryde cross braces. I also switched out my pin box to the GenY goose box. I can tell you its a much smoother ride. We hauled it to Florida from Chicago and most stuff in the trailer was where it was when we left. I believe with the improvements it will keep the trailer from destroying itself while being towed. I have no regrets.

Hello fellow Montana owners and fans

I am considering upgrading the suspension on our 2021 Montana 3120rl legacy with the roadmaster comfort ride. Please let me know your thoughts if you have done this. I have had 3 issues with the hangers since buying our rig in Oct 2020 new.

Thanks!!!
We just completed the install of the Roadmaster slipper spring and Comfort Ride shocks. We also installed the X-Factor braces (3 of them, one on each hanger) on our Montana. Also had the tires balanced since they had not been from the factory. There is no information out there on how to install the more X factor on that center roadmaster hanger bracket but after consulting with roadmaster and a few installers were able to successfully put the center x-factor brace on. Our first road trip will be in a couple of weeks to test it all out.
