Residential Refrigerator & Boondocking

We have a Samsung Residential Refrig in our 2018 Montana 3701LK..will a Honda 3000 generator keep batteries charged to run the refrigerator for a week? Our inverter is a 1000 Mecuum...or should we plan to invest in solar panels also? The 5th wheel is prepped for solar.
We have boondocked for years with ourTT that had a elec or gas refrigerator...but unsure of this big residential refrigerator. Thank you for any help!

Not sure there is enough information in your question to be able to help you. How often do you plan to run the generator to re-charge the batteries? Daily? And for how long? What is your battery setup? If the batteries are large enough to run the inverter which then powers the fridge for 24hrs then I would say you should be fine if you run the generator each day to get them back to 100%. I can't imagine it would need too long with the generator on to get the batteries back to 100%.

If you can boondock where you can run a generator, that's the route I would take. The solar prep is nearly worthless and a whole solar system can be an expensive headache. A 3000w is plenty to charge batteries and even run an a/c. One thing you may need to research is whether you have enough battery to supply your needs for at least 12 hours or so.

I know time has past since you post, but wanted to share my set up with similar refrigerator. I put 400 watts of solar, 200
Amp of lithium battery and 1000 watt inverter and that’s enough to keep my batteries charged for refrigerator. I can be at
100 % battery, unhook and drive all day and my batteries are still 100% . All for less than $1800

Paul M, that is the setup that I,m contemplating but you forgot to include what solar controller you,re using.

Epever 40 amp charge controller
Bouge 200 solar panelx2
Sok 100 amp hr lithium w/ heater x2
30 amp breaker between panels and charge controller, 30 amp breaker between batteries and charge controller. Used the
10 gauge solar prep wires, panels are in parallel. This works great for me, and have got a champion duel fuel 3500 generator for backup.
