I want to replace the POS 50" tv in our living room. If I replace it with another 50" smart tv, will everything line up when mounted? Or will I have to move the tv mount?
Saw in your profile you have a 2025. Not sure what brand Keystone installed but on our 2021, a LG 50” fit fine with no mods reqd. Th LG has VESA 200mm sq (7 7/8”) mounting holes centered vertically to the height of the tv. The bracket on ours has the 200mm holes plus a set that are much wider but same vert distance. Its been about 3 yrs but I seem to recall the factory tv used the wider mounts.
You might want to measure your current tv mounts and look up the specs on the new one or go to a showroom.
IF you have a TV on a lift system, check the mount for the worm screw. I discovered ours loose (hanging by a thread). I put blue Locktite on the threads and tightened it up. Also lubricate the screw drive with spray lithium (PTFE) grease.
You will need an Allen wrench and have to put it in up from the bottom (working blind).
BTW, there is plenty of room for the TV mounting brackets to adjust to fit a new TV.
If the TV is the same size then it will likely be able to use the same mounting bracket. It might, though, use different sized bolts. The new TV will likely come with some mounting bolts. It is also possible that the holes on the new TV are at a different height but it's pretty easy to measure the difference in hole locations on the back of the TVs and remount the bracket up or down accordingly.
When I upgraded our TV I had to relocate the mount. Easy Peasy
I had to get a vesa adaptor because the pattern was larger on the new TV and then lower the swing arm one set of holes. Easy once I had the adaptor and the hardware.
Jensen to Roku. 400 x 200 to 400 x 300. You’ll have to measure.
The Connex TV was the biggest POS I ever saw. No help from the dealer, Keystone or Connex. I believe the TV is a low entry LG but don't quote me. I replaced it with a Vizio TV. I had to move the mount which is 4 wood screws. It took about 5 minutes to relocate the wood screws after a few measurements.
If you want to make that new TV go from good to amazing, get a calibration Blu-ray disc. Disney WOW, and Spears & Munsil are both good ones. Just put the disc in your Blu-ray player and it will walk you through all the adjustments. The factory settings for brightness, contrast, back light, etc are far from optimum. The process takes half an hour or so and will stay calibrated regardless of input source.
A well calibrated LG OLED has an amazing picture.
Will the settings stick after power loss? Just wondering if disconnecting shore power would cause the settings to be lost.
That's what I figure I'll have to do.
