Hello everyone, I own a 2020 Montana 331RL. Cable system slides. The motor for the dining room slide which is a big slide about 15 feet long was sounding weak and inconsistent so I replaced it. I also replaced a frayed cable while I was at it. Now I cant get the slide to come in evenly. Its off by about a 1/2" on the bottom rear corner. Also the new motor sounds worse than the old motor! New motor also cuts off and I have to wait a minute to finish the movement in or out.

Any Input? Are there up graded motors out there?

Is there a certain spot you need to place the slide to fine tune adjustments?
I gotta be missing some type of knowledge on it.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Below is the replacement motor I bought. It looks identical to the factory. Is there a stronger one recommended?

If the linkage on the chains over the drive gear is off by one link, it can make the slide crooked. You can make some adjustments with the cables, but there's a limit once the threads on those bolts reach the end. The secondary adjustment is the nut that attaches to the actual chain. It can be adjusted about an inch and that might make all the difference.

What you need to do is close the slide, then using those 2 adjustment points, keep tightening until the slide is completely closed. Then test by opening and closing again with the motor.

But, your issue sounds like one chain was not put on the gear at the motor correctly. It's off by one link.

It's real important when taking off both chains that you use a marker and mark a spot where both chain links are beside each other. Then when you re-install the chains, you put those 2 marks back together at the same spot again... adjacent each other.

Thankyou for your feedback and input! Yes, I was off by 1 link. Finally got it fixed and working properly. I do wish there was an up graded motor for these. Even after replacing the new one, it doesnt instill much confidence.
