A member shared that they finally had their 2014 Chevy 3500 long bed crew cab 4x4 diesel dually fully repainted after years of putting it off, hoping to prevent future rust from rock chips and door-bottom wear. They also added a new Flip Back bed cover and said the truck now feels like a new vehicle while still being mechanically solid at 117,000 miles.

Other members agreed it looked great and supported the decision, noting that repainting and maintaining an older truck can be far more...

After procrastinating for about 5 years, I finally got the dually repainted. I had a total repaint. The mechanical parts of the truck are in fabulous shape at 117,000 miles (not bad for an original owner of a 2014 model). The body wasn't that bad either. But, before rust started on lots of little rock dings, or the bottom of the doors start showing signs of rust and then realize, if you can see the beginning signs of rust, the inside of the door is already beyond repair. So, before anything like that happened, I finally got a full body repaint.

My wife said, since we paying the price for a total repaint, we're getting a new Flip Back bed cover. I completely agreed with that.

So here she is, all repainted and new bed cover. I feel like I'm driving a brand new vehicle. The interior is kept spotless too! Always has, always will.

Considering the price of a new Chevy 3500, long bed, crew cab, 4x4, diesel dually, the repaint and the bed cover cost seemed like the most logical plan. I hope to keep this truck for at least another 15 or 20 years.

Ole Betsy looks good. Like new. I have a 08 Ford that’s been kept inside or in a shed that still looks new. My 07 motor home has always been kept inside with only 9000 miles still looks like new.

Last year we had a tornado. The truck had some fender damage from flying debris ($1,800). The car was peppered with flying glass. $13,000 to repaint it. The insurance company totalled it !!!. For a paint job !!!
