So…the chef wanted the controls for the two fantastic fans that are above the cooktop moved. The factory installed location was in the hallway, upstairs from the kitchen (this is a 2025 3231CK floorplan), and inconvenient at best.
“Seems easy enough”
Unfortunately there appeared no way to run directly past the existing wire chase located behind the coat closet and above the fuse/breaker/converter. There may be a way, but I was nervous about drilling in that wire mess! I opted to go behind the original location into the bathroom linen closet, right under one of the shelves, and then exit the cabinet through the floor. Careful here because there’s a heating duct that starts under this cabinet to feed the bedroom! Working from the kitchen, I was able to fish a wire through the existing light switch, down into the basement and across to the wires coming through the floor. The original RJ-11 phone type connectors were snipped off, RJ-11 extension cords spliced in and all works great! Chef happy!
