I have a 2019 Montana 3700LK. It is parked permanently on a lake site and is used as a weekend retreat for friends and family. Sometimes it will not be used for 3 or 4 weeks. Would it be more economical for me to turn off the fridge when not used or let it run to maintain temp. I.e. does it cost more to bring the fridge up to temp or maintain temp?

Assuming the rig has an absorption fridge I would turn it off. Not so much about cost to cool down again as leaving either the gas on or boiler on running off electricity with no one there.

Thanks AZ. I live in close proximity and check on the rig couple times a week.
Utility rates are at the point where my electric bill is becoming prohibitive. Thus, the need to cut costs.

Maybe I'm of a different opinion???

Question 1: If you left your house for 3 weeks, would you shut off the refrigerator? The odds of a power outage is just as great at either location ... campground or home?

Question 2: Cost effective? What food items are you leaving in the refrigerator when gone for 3 weeks? If none, the go back to question 1. If you leave food in the refrigerator, then leave turned on.

Food items would be removed. Electric Co. advises to leave it running based on estimated time to bring temp back up.
