Hey all, just got our 2016 3911 RB a month or so ago and working through familiarizing ourselves with everything, along with getting it ready for her maiden voyage! One thing I know nothing about is the rear camera. My 2022 Silverado has the ability to add cameras to the on board screen, but the hard wire kit i have is only good for a 16 ft. trailer.....LOL. Is there anyway to incorporate this camera into the factory system? I think probably not, but just wanted to ask.
So, if not, how does this camera work as it is, do I need to buy an additional screen or something? It is hooked up to our 50 amp service now and it has a blue light glowing. I don't have any paperwork on it, so any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks, Rick

Your camera is a Furrion. Here's a link to their website. Click here.

The camera is paired with the Furrion Observation monitor, there are 2 sizes.

And no, you will not be able to hard wire this into the tow vehicle. You'll need to purchase the monitor that secures to your windshield or dash with a suction cup.

Thank you very much! I will look into it and see what our options are! :)

It's odd that you have the camera, but not the screen. Our rig came with the pre-wire and a shark fin cover. I had to buy the cameras and screen to have them installed. I also got the side marker cameras with the 7" screen.

You may also need to purchase an adapter for you 2022 Chevy. The monitor for the Furrion camera needs a certain amount of amps to operate. My 2021 did not. After i purchased the adapter it all worked fine. Hope this helped.

I had a factory GM rear camera and to tell you the truth, I prefer my wife back there with her cell phone when backing into a site.

Same here Bartman - I have "surround view" camera system on my truck that I don't even use. Having my DW with a walkie talkie watching high and low / side to side is the very best "camera view" for me. Of course I'm somewhat old fashioned and set in my ways on some things. Others prefer all the bells and whistles technology.

I'm with you! All that camera is good for is seeing what's behind you on the freeway. I have a GMC factory camera and harness sitting on the floor in my garage. 2020 GMC trailer back up camera for sale....good deal

I agree with all of you for backing up, especially into a site, that my wife will be my eyes. I was just hoping to use the camera with my factory system to use while traveling, etc. I was also hoping you could use the cameras as security measures when parked?

Which camera did you go with? I'm looking at the Haloview Byte Tango 1080p with the side markers?

I have the Furrion cameras. The rear is an observation camera (not just backup camera), so I can monitor behind me at all times. I honestly seldom use the side cameras, but the have come in handy at times.

Thanks for the response! My 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500HD has the cameras that display the sides when I use my turn signals. I may just stick with that and not worry about the side cameras.

I've been researching on how to fool the GMC into thinking a trailer was hooked up so the turn signal cameras without a trailer. I hear that a 5 pin light tester left plugged in works. Anyone try this? Gonna test it.

This has been discussed on the Duramax forum.
