Question on air mattress.

The air mattress directions are kind of vague, but looking at the mattress, it looks like it was designed to be permanately attached to the sofa fold out frame and folded away with the frame after deflating - as opposed to putting it back in the bag after use. Am I correct in this guess?

New ones may be different, ours goes back in the bag after use. I think it protects the mattress from getting holes. Probably just me.

No ours is attached to the back of the sofa in a bag that can be removed and stored if you wish. It does not fold up with the bed.

Tom, richfaa is correct. I also found out that the airbed (made in China) is distributed by Flair Interiors in Goshen. It is packaged so that you can use it in places other than just our rv's. We have a one year warranty. I spoke to Elaine at Flair and she was very helpful. Also know that the airbed comes in two sizes 54" and 60" wide. Ours is the 60" wide Queen size. We don't use the Velcro attaching straps, just put A fitted pad and fitted sheet over for the night then cover with top sheet and quilt and go to bed. The the mornings reverse the process with the mattress back in the zippered bag. We take extended trips with family guests so the DW and I sleep on the air mattress and have a routine. We are pretty fast, but after about two or three weeks it gets old. There has got to be a better idea.

We have had this RV for over a year and one half. We are on an extended trip and used the air bed for the first time. We got it out of the bag, figured out how to use it, and my sister really enjoyed sleeping on it. After three nights it started losing air and is flat by morning. We then purchased an air bed from Walmart and it lasted four nights before it started losing air. The good news is Walmart is relatively close by and gives you 15 days to return it. We can repeat this exercise if (when) the replacement fails too.

In some ways the old hide a bed with mattress was quicker and easier to set up/take down albeit less comfortable (but then again I don't plan to sleep on it so who cares ) than the new, improved air mattress. And the old style mattress never went flat.

Ours was installed within the sofa, and was worthless. No matter how careful the sofa was folded up, leaks developed. We purchased a nice one from Sports Authority as a replacement.

Since we'd had our new Monte only since April, we finally got a chance to use it on "Monte's 1st Big Adventure" going once around the U.S. from June to August. My daughter got to be the first person to use it when we drove from Montgomery AL to Louisville KY. We fiqured it out rather quickly and after a night's sleep on it, she declared it "the best air mattress" she'd ever slept on.

We got to use it again when we were in Wisconsin, where my mother and my sister used it. By now I was a pro at setting it up. We didn't have a mattress cover on it, and unlike the South, the northwoods of Wisconsin are cold at night, we even had to run the furnace. They complained that they were cold as the air mattress sucked their body heat. We used blankets on the mattress the next night and that alleviated those complaints.

Out air mattress has both a built-in 110v air pump, as well as an external 12v air pump. The 110v pumps it up quickly and deflates it just as well. The entire kit and kaboodle folds into a bag at the the foot of the fold-out couch. It was easy for us to unfold and fold it again.

No leaks yet. But it did come with a patch kit.

Keystone replaced ours twice. They develop leaks frequently! No hassle, just called them. We bought a better unit, at Bed Bath and guest use it on floor of living room!

No, it's not just you. When our first one developed a leak after only being used a couple of times, it was replaced by Keystone. Ever since, we don't fold it up while attached to the frame. It gets put back in the bag and stowed in the couch drawer.

So far, so good for the last 4 years.

Has anyone had problems with the "webbing" inside the mattress itself coming apart? We have two, one in LR and one in Bunkroom and the one in the living room has been used about 20 nights since May 2012 by my adult son and a couple of nights in the house as a spare bed on the floor and there is a large hump the width of the mattress where your ribs would be when laying on it where 3 or 4 of the webs have come apart. For now, I've switched the mattresses but will have to replace the one.
