Rich, the pig tail that connects to the tank has a excessive flow control valve in it. If it senses a large inrush of LP from the tank it will close, however when the pressure equalizes on the downstream side it should open.

Sounds like the valve in the pigtail is either sticking or bad.

Note the color of the plastic "nut" and replace with the same color. The color indicates the amount of flow they will allow.

If the tank you are having problems with is the one with the regulator in line (curb side) you might try removing that regulator. In my opinion it is not needed. The regulator on the switchover valve will regulate the pressure from both tanks.

The thought is a inrush of LP from the tank is causing the pig tail valve to close. The inline regulator is not allowing a back flow of LP to equalize the pig tail valve so it can open. Remove the regulator first, see what happens, then swap pig tails side to side.

The regulator I refer to is NOT the SWITCH OVER DEVICE.

Hi

I never trusted those automatic regulators or I guess after 70 years I have learned not to trust me.

I keep one tank off. When the one in use is empty I manually switch tanks at the regulator. Then I remove the empty and go get it filled.

If I didn’t do it this way I would forget to fill the empty tank. Then the next time at 10 PM with an outside temp around 45 and its raining I would have 2 empty tanks. LOL
