Power Converter problem

Neither my Accuslide sliders nor the LCI leveling system will work. I don’t hear the WFCO 65 amp power converter running. I’m assuming this the reason for the systems not working? Any guidance for testing the converter? I’m handy but not an electrical pro, can use a multimeter. I can buy a new converter from camping world. The converter has a couple connections that snap into place but then it has another cable that I’m assuming runs to the breaker panel. Thoughts on how difficult it is to install a replacement so I don’t need to take to Camping World?

Here are step by step instructions for finding a problem in the 12V system. It is intended for situations where there is no power. It may not help where you have power but low voltage. If all this checks out with good 12.5+ voltage readings then look at the power distribution system (aka fuse panel). Check for loose connections and that the wires are all tight in their respective sockets.

  • The converter is part of the power distribution panel -Ensure the CB for it is On
  • There are Reverse Polarity Fuses on the converter which protect against connecting a battery backwards. - Ensure they are not blown.
  • Check the output voltage at the converter. - it should be in the 13.5V DC range.
  • The power then runs to the Disconnect Switch in the Convenience Center. - Ensure the Red Key is in the position where it can *NOT* be removed. If removed, this interrupts the power charging the battery. The Disconnect Switch is not know to fail, but you can remove it to check there is power in and out of it just to be sure.
  • The power next flows to the group of 50 amp self-resetting CBs behind the battery. We all know about the one that hiccups and interrupts the hydraulic system. That one also passes power to/from the converter and batteries. You want to check it and it's brother (it is in the current flow to the battery) to ensure there is 13.>5V on *EACH* side of the CB.
  • The last connection is the one from the 50 amp CBs to the batteries. Ensure you have clean connections and the cables are not corroded (watch out for internal corrosion under the shrink wrap).

Somewhere along this path there will be the problem. A simple VOM should find it. I hope this helps. The usual culprits are the 50 amp CBs and the disconnect switch (in the wrong position).

Thanks for the input. Have checked electrical, installed new battery, actually replaced converter as Camping World was accommodating and allowed me to return it if it didn’t fix problem, and it did not. I feel like the issue is with the control board for the sliders, but testing that is beyond my scope, so making g appt to take into Camping World. I appreciate the guidance.

The Acuslide controls and the LCI leveling System are completely separate systems. No single control board is common to them, You more likely have a 12V system problem where they are not getting power.

Just thinking out loud, so excuse me if this sounds crazy.
I recently had my rig into CW in Jacksonville to replace a fresh water tank that was leaking (long story). After getting it back, my battery wasn't charging so I did the tests on the converter, even retested with a technician from Progressive Dynamics and even he said the converter needed replace.
Turns out the Red Key in the convenience center was turned off while it was at CW for repairs.
I never use it since I put in my own disconnect at the battery.
Anyway, check that red key.

Rmcneal, I have had this happen several times too. I am getting better tho. Last time it happened I checked the key first thing! LOL
Dealer seems to always turn off the key.

I believe your accu-slide system should have a 30 amp fuse that runs to the controller. It may be an in-line type fuse that is resettable. I doubt if it will be on your breaker panel. If the leveler isn’t working that both could be on the same power source. Does your leveler control board have lights.
Control board cost about $110.00 and looks easy to replace. I would suspect it is in the basement near the leveler control panel.
