Placing a US map question

We've been wanting to get one of those stick on maps of the US to show what states we've spent at least one night. The logical place to put it seems to be the end wall of the slide out next to the entry door. Problem is that the surface of the end wall is dimpled metal and I'm afraid the map wouldn't stick properly. Any comments or suggestions?

I PUT OURS ON A PIECE OF plexaglass and screwed it to the inside of our entrance door so it is visible when the door is open door. That way you can move it with you if and when you get a new trailer. Works great.

We did similar to Brooksider, except we used heavy duty Velcro on the door and back side of the Plexiglas.

X2- Screwed to the inside of the door has worked for us [ It is on the 3rd fiver now ] - JMHO- Don

I'm still trying to find the maps! We had them on our old unit that showed the US and Canada (including Alaska), and it used just colored sections (like the one in Don & Judy's signature) instead of the newer ones they have out now that show different things for each state.

When did they let more states into the Union other than Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma ... geeze ... what's next? Roads clear to both coasts? A guy could just drive right off into the ocean. ;)

Thanks for all of the terrific ideas. The door is probably the best place for us. I also like the solid color map. That will be our next order.

I put ours on the back of the largest slide, facing the rear of our Monte. I didn't need to see it all of the time, I just wanted people to see it as they walk or drive by - it's just pure bragging on my part.

That being said, our slide sides are glossy black with that "dimpled" effect, the map we purchased sticks just fine. Just make sure the surface is 100% clean, and that the temperature is warmer rather than colder.

We had the exact same map on the back of our travel trailer. It was just missing six states. I started with a blank map on our new Monte purchased this April, but this year we put 19 states on the map.
