Photograph Your RV Weight Tag Before It Gets Damaged

I just posted my weight tag to another thread, and it reminded me of this point...take a photo of your manufacturer's weight tag located on the front passenger side of your rig. The tags in this photo of mine are "reprints"! My OEM tags were destroyed by a guy that I hired to come wax my rig in 2022. He "wax-on-wax-off" and it completely wiped out all the information on my tag leaving a white blank decal. Fortunately, I had a photo of the original tag, and I went to a local print shop and they made a set of two new vinyl tags for about $50. You can still see one of my tags is completely blank...I think it was some sort of California warning/compliance tag like "the chemicals in this rig will KILL YOU" or whatever they require...don't need that tag in TX.

Never gave it any thought. Guess I’ll snap a pic when I get to my rig next spring.

I like the idea for the trailer VIN sticker too unless those are available from Keystone.

I learned this lesson the hard way as well. A detailing service went over mine and I lost all of the information on our previous Montana. I now take a picture of the tag and carry it in with my registration, insurance card, etc. I like your suggestion of going to a print shop to get a new one made. I will try that one if this ever happens to me again. I do tape over the decal with masking tape before I get the rig detailed to hopefully avoid this from happening again.
