Our 2025 385BR came with Ranier R527 G rated tires. I'm running them at 110 psi. Should I be looking to replace these or get some mileage out of them first? Anyone had issues right from the factory with them? Also, anyone running Discount Tire's Hartland ST Radial All Steel G rated tires? Haven't heard much about them like I have with the Sailuns which seem to be the go to tire.

Rainier Tires is owned and made by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. The brand's products are produced in one of Goodyear's Chinese tire manufacturing facilities. They are fine to run keep them at 110psi

Historically, Montana High Country RVs came with "F" rated Rainier tires. The R527 Series range from "D" to "G'" Load Range. I would feel more comfortable with "G" rated tires (Sailuns).

R 527 are G rated ST is motst likely E rated
They're not STs and they're 110 psi. I think it'd be stupid to put E rated tires on a Montana. But I've seen more stupid stuff before. I'll find out more today when I go to the storage lot and take a good look.

Rainier's have historically been considered "China Bombs". And for good reason...sidewalls delaminate from the inside and then the tire explodes with no warning. Most of us have removed them in favor of Sailun, Carlisle, or other tires G with a much better reputation.

Rainier G tires? Beats me. Maybe they're better than the F's. If the sidewalls are built the same then it could be just a matter of time. If you're willing to be the guinea pig it would be good to know if they are worth keeping or not. Personally, I would be nervous about them. YMMV

It s not the tires fault blame keystone and other rv makers trying to cut cost by buying cheap tires and I will agree with you on all chinese made E and F rated tires regardless of brand not good . But G rated tires from Rainier, Hercules, Carlilse, Saliun, Trans Eagle, Hankook and several others are all good, we just dont see many problems with them, that being said, any tire can be defective, get a flat, have a blowout ect.

If you really want the best Goodyear G614

I cannot imagine having a large ffith wheel with E rated tires, which was all keystone used until aproximatley 2020-2021?

change them to g rated tires for sure

My 2012 Montana 3700RL came with Goodyear G614s.
My unit came with G rated Rainiers. I replaced them at 3 years with Saliuns because there was crazing/cracking showing on the sidewalls. I had no other issues with the tires.

I stand corrected. I went out there and they ARE STs but I think they're G rated based on the 110 psi. But having said all of that, I don't trust them. My 2019 Jayco fifth wheel, my Goodyear Endurance tires were blowing like popcorn cooking until I replaced them with Carlisle tires. I had good luck with them except for running over screws and bolts which aren't good for any tires. I can get the Carlisle from Discount Tire or Sailuns from Walmart down here in San Antonio. I've heard so many good things on different forums about Sailuns, I may go with them. Either way, both are G rated 14 ply. Thanks for all the insight!

What is the max weight rating info on the sidewall? Take a picture of the tire with its embossed information.

Single is 4080, dual is 3640.

Yup, 4080 3640 single is the standard "G" tire rating. That along with the "14 PR" says they are "G" rated.

On Update: I first stated the dual tire tire rating of 3640. The correct single tire Load Rating is 4080 (aka Load Range 129)

I had a blowout 2 years ago. $9500 damage to fenders, etc. Insurance covered all but $500 lucky for me.

Thats odd , I thought the standard was moved up a bit . 235/80/16 G rated were 4080 , 235/85/16 were 4400 G rated , both ratings @ 110 psi . I believe at one time the Sailuns were 3640 ,but that changed when they went from a LT tire to a ST , and a higher rating .

A previous post mentioned the Goodyear G614 ,they don't meet the weight rating , although they are a G rated tire ,but only 3640 @ 110 psi . I would never put them on these heavier Montana fifth wheels . IMO the gold standard is the Sailun S637's in either the 235/80/16 or the 235/85/16 your choice . I prefer the 235/85/16 .

Presently running my second set of Sailuns 235/85/16 , which I would highly recommend. This second set will age out next year , will be ordering another set from Walmart . They have as good a price as any . Shipped free to your doorstep or wherever . I remove mine ,and take them to my local tire shop to be installed . My first set the tire shop I usually buy my tires from matched the price from Big O , at the time Big O had a good a price as anyone . This second set , they were not , Walmart was about the best . My tire shop could not match that price ,but had no issues installing them .

Yep. That's what I understood. I just don't know if I trust them enough to keep them.

I would probably not trust them either . I ran a set of Missions ,the brand at the time on my new 2008 Montana fifth wheel for a couple years ,worried the whole time ,until I changed them to the Goodyear G614's the brand to have at that time . The Goodyear now just doesn't meet the weight rating .

As said in my previous post , I would just order a set of Sailun S637's from Walmart ,and be done with what you have .

You are correct. I mistyped the load rating (above) and used the dual tire number (3640) rather than the single tire number (4080). But I still prefer Sailuns to Rainier given the Sailuns track record.

Thanks . As said I believe the Sailuns at one time were an LT tire rated for 3640 .No argument there , I believe Saliun is the best you can buy for our fifth wheels .
