The RV owner reported a Norcold N811RT refrigerator in a 2011 fifth wheel that had been cooling on both 120V and propane, but then stopped cooling entirely. The front panel lights still worked and the propane flame came on and burned normally, but neither propane nor electric operation produced cooling.

My Norcold fridge was working a couple of days ago,but not working any more ,was parked model #N811RT .Propane is working but not cooling off neither. Wondering if anybody has any experience with this or how I go about troubleshooting the problem

What year is your 5th wheel with the fridge? Is it a dual run fridge? Does your Norcold work on electricity? Did you recently get water up in the outside panel? Is it not working at all or is motor running and just not cooling?

If water such as if using a pressure washer or hose with pressure, you can cause the fridge to stop, and it takes a strong magnet to restart it. Make sure your Propane is really on, has enough propane and working.

We had issues with our Norcold when water got up in the outside panel and after a very bumpy ride that caused the control panel to go bad. Depending on the year of your Norcold, you can contact Norcold personally at 800-543-1219, usually option #1.

My 5th wheel is 2011,was working great on 120 v and propane, stopped working wondering if there is a circuit board somewhere. The lights on the front panel are working fine

I am having trouble understanding the problem. What is not working?
  • The refer on Propane?
  • The refer on electricity?
  • Or both are not working?
The Service Manual ChuckS pointed to is a great help in diagnosing refer problems. The steps are different depending on what portion of the refer is not working.

Neither are working, the propane come on and burns good but no cooling in the fridge and 120 volt does not cool neither

I am far from an expert, but it seems to me if the flame is coming on but no cooling, probably the freon or whatever the coolant in the cools is, is empty.
