new tires ? what kind

There were a couple members reporting strange wear issues last spring, but the vast majority of us who have the 614's are experiencing good use from them.

I know the tire issue has been talked about repeatedly. I was under the impression that the G rated tires took care of most of the problems.

Goodyear G rated for me! New two months ago, 9000 miles look great! Even wear and no air loss. I have suspension checked all the time and an nuts about preventative maintanence ! But in all fairness as I reported before, my E rated Marathons held up extremely well and had 11,000 miles when I sold them on Craigslist !

Upgraded to 17.5" wheels and am running the GY G114 tires.

Just got back from a 2300 mile trip and all went well. Tires still look new.

The reason we did this is to give us a bigger safety margin. Not cheap but was worth a little more peace of mind while traveling.

Trailer Tires and Wheels in Ohio. Can get you everything mounted and balanced. The 17.5s are actually a fraction smaller in diameter than the OEM Mara-bombs.

Back in August we had our first and last Mara-bomb failure. My first impulse was to but 5 new G614 Goodyear’s but after looking at our travel habits and future plans till retirement in 4 years decided to go with the Sailun S637. We’ll keep you posted on how they do.
