Hello to all,

I'm new with using "posts, threads, tags, etc." of any sort. I'm just throwing this msg out there and hopefully I'll be able to figure out how all this sending and receiving msg all works.

Can't find anyway to add a permanent photo next to user name, not sure if that's doable either.

OB,

Welcome to the forum!

Go to the User CP menu which is far left of the brown bar and pull it down and select Edit Avatar - you can add you picture there.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find a lot of helpful people here.

Let me try this again. My wife and I are from Tampa Bay area. We're on our count down till retirement (looking at 5yrs from now). We're weekend warriors until then. We don't own a Montana yet but planing for one when we retire. My wife loves the 330RL floor plan. We currenly own a 2012 Cougar TT ( a step or so below you guys).

I joined this MOC to educate myself amongst the highly experienced community out there who have been doing this for some time with their Montana's. I hope by joining (since we don't own a Montana yet) won't upset the community.

Well your in the right place to greet the snow birds that's for sure LOL. We have stayed around the Tampa area on vacation a few times. We have even thought about buying a small lot in central Florida to snow bird at in retirement (we have a country estate in North Arkansas). We are also like you in that we are about 5 years or so out from retirement and weekend warriors till then.

Your doing the right thing by joining BEFORE you buy!! Research and study up on not just which floor plan you want but also what options (especially after market) you might want to add. A lot easier to add them up front so you can include them in the loan! You have a good RV show right there in your area and I highly encourage you to check that out as it is a rare opportunity to see a lot of different models and brands side by side. Happy hunting!

I hesitate to say this but also do your research regarding a possible tow vehicle as it will likely cost almost if not more than the 5er. Seems like the debates over which tow truck is best are worse than which floor plan to choose.......

Yes, I do plan going to more of Tampa's Fair Grounds RV Show's. I've missed the past several years due to work scheduled on the same weekends. I research quite a bit of floor plans, gagets, etc., on the internet for now. My wife & I have gone to dealership's where a particular unit may be sitting during some of our weekend travels just to see the real thing & look at the pros & cons on how it might fit into our future life style on the road.

We winter near Disneyworld and attend the Tampa RV show every year. We joined this forum over one year before we purchased our first 2006 Montana and information gained here led to the purchase of our first Montana in mid 2006.

Hey , welcome to MOC ...it will be a great resource for Montana ownership..but rest assured that considering the number of them built and going to be built, the vast majority of them are trouble free with happy owners, but there there are always some that come with issues.

A good topic to research before you buy which sales people don't cover concerns tires on the 5th. You will find a lot of discussion here because the tires that come on the unit usually work to get off the lot but will fail you in the middle of nowhere. Good road side and blowout insurance needed. When buying get dealer to put on light truck tires.
