I am going to be installing panels this summer (max possible) and know that the roof is not solar ready (unless it is well hidden) . What cable routing are folks using when factory wiring is not available. How about equipment placement? In the front or in the storage by the converter?

Many find that using a vent stack to route cables down into the coach is quick, easy and doesn't introduce holes in the roof.
Placement depends on what all equipment you will install. Will the converter be retained with the solar? Wet cell batteries in the same location as electronics is not ideal.

It seems that most use the basement for the equipment and the front for the batteries (lithium only). Unfortunately the vent stacks don't come close to either.

I can't find a floor plan for a 395TS (is it a Montana?) to see where the vent stacks are located. But usually they are above the black/shower tanks which live under the pass through compartment. That is close to both the pass through and the front compartment.

I don't have solar, but my buddies that do, have their lithium batteries and all the solar gear in the front compartment. If you have an onboard generator or just the prep for it, there likely isn't enough room for all this stuff. Then the pass through compartment (or even behind the rear wall of the pass through) is a better option.

Mistake on the model. It is a 365 TS on 39, I maybe able on the shower side. I do have a generator but we didn't install it elected to do one that is kept in the truck bed. Hadn't thought of it but there is probably a vent at the washer dryer (which we are taking out!)
I don't remember a lot of room behind the basement pass through wall

I have the 2006 MOntana model pdf. All models are 4 digit numbers. They all started with 29,32,34,35 and 36. The extension is either RL,RK, or one with FL. I had a 2980RL. Not sure what number you really have.
