I've been lazy and have stayed with Metlife for 30yrs for home, Rv, & truck. Just upgraded to my NEW 2014 Montana Mountaineer up in Seattle and thought it was time to save a dime or two. My father-in-law was visiting and he's a retired Insurance guy. Gave no advise but hinted towards Gieco on a buzz. I want all in one coverage. Any advise???

I wanted that too but couldn't find it. Since we fulltime I wanted replacement coverage on the RV, not current value and couldn't get it with the same company. I could have gotten it with progressive, but my rig was too old.

Dick, We have the same montana as you. I had everything with USAA, and USAA indicated I could do better with Progressive on the Montana coverage because we treat as a residence much of the year, and after a conference call with USAA, Progressive, and us, back in April, Progressive cut a policy for us as fulltimers with a locked in flat replacement cost for five years based on market value at time of policy issue, which without checking my policy, I think was $59.5. Not full replacement, but major chunk.

That's great, it wasn't offered to us that way. I did fine a policy with Blue Sky, however, that is current replacement cost.

We have cars, trucks, home and RV at full replacement cost(first five years) with Geico and very happy with it. Geico does not advertise the full replacement cost option(that I have seen at least) but if you ask for it, they do not hesitate to quote it. They were 35 to 40% less than the Good Sam quote I received on the RV for same coverage.

just start calling around. gmac, interstate, progressive....lots out there.

We just got our renewal notice from National General Insurance Company (I guess that's the new name for GMAC). It went up 20% so I'll be shopping around. We are not full-timers and don't bundle because all our other insurance needs are with AAA and they don't have RV insurance.

Insurance is regional. It's based on complicated actuary calculations. As example, I pay less for cars, RVs then people living 165 miles away. You must shop and compare. What I pay, and u pay have little to do with each other! I was on the Board of insurance Company for 20 plus years. It's very complicated and based on where you live, and many other factors.

I find this to be true in our area. For several years Progressive has been high in our area. Been using GMAC now National General but renewal time is here. Will start homework for quotes. We like full replacement value also.

We were with Progressive for over 5 years for home, cars(3) and RV. They paid for several RV claims--I was happy. No claims on home but they shot my premiums so high--I shopped around. Yes, I got the coverage I need from Allstate--some other companies just ignorered me. Lesson--shop around atleast every other year. I will make it an annual ritual!
