After careful consideration, not the least of which involved forum posts here, my wife and I have purchased a new 3750FL.
For the past eight years we have owned a 3400RL. To be honest, we feel that we had something of a lemon as we had some problems with it that made us skeptical about buying a Montana once again. But we decided that every product will have a certain amount of lemons and we were the unlucky ones. After several repairs we were able to get things on track.
I had used this forum extensively when I first purchased our first Montana and had not used it much in the last several years. Since technical know-how isn't my forte, I'm more of a taker than a giver. Although I did once make a contribution monetarily to this site in appreciation for all the help I've gotten.
I retired last year and my wife is still working for a few more years. We had lengthy conversations about whether or not we would end up going the condo route when she retired. But we have been RVing for several decades and it's in our blood! As long as we are physically and financially able to do it, I imagine we will keep doing this.
I had always thought I wouldn't like the front living room configuration but when I saw this model I couldn't believe how wrong I was! We knew we were going to go in this direction once we saw it.
I really wanted to buy a Big Sky version because I just love the paint job on those.
But we ended up getting a regular 2013 3750FL that was special ordered and left on the dealer's lot for a deal that apparently fell through, because the deal was so good we felt we had to take it. Our model has some extras that are not on all of the regular ones: six point leveling, dual pane safety glass, king size bed as well as the stone facade fireplace and fantastic fan. We had the dealer add a second air-conditioner in the bedroom. There is also a Mor/Ryde hitch pin. I'm not sure if that is standard or not.
We sign and pick it up next Thursday. We plan to be camping at our favorite campground, Danforth Bay, on Saturday. Thanks to everyone for assisting me in getting information that I could work on with my wife in making our decision.
