New 2026 Keystone Montana 3100RL for Full-Time Plans

Hello everyone! Just purchased our new 2026 Keystone Montana 3100RL. Traded in our Grand Design Imagine travel trailer. It's our first 5th wheel and we are looking forward to it. This is probably our last RV. We plan to live in it full-time when my wife retires.

Welcome, hope you enjoy the 3100, it's a great trailer with plenty of space. While we are not full timers, we do spend three months in the pan handle of Florida in the winter, and I'm sure the fireplace in the bedroom as well as the main fireplace in the living room will help in lowering the propane bills.
FYI, there have been 3 recalls on the 3100RL, one is for an underbelly detachment risk (Keystone Recall #26-482), Pinching electrical wiring (Keystone Recall #26-480), and Incorrectly tightened shock bolts (Keystone Safety Advisory #26-483).

We are full time in our 42 ft Montana 5th wheel and love the lifestyle. Just keep in mind, it is an RV so it is not built well. As long as you don't get frame flex or some other catastrophic failure, you'll have a great time. If we buy another one, the first thing I'll do is change the tires. I like 'H' rated tires on these heavier units and I don't trust tires that have been on the trailer and just sitting for over a year.

I am interested in the H rated tires. I am starting see more of them discussed in this site. I have been upgrading to G rated tires, will check them out with my next tire replacement.

It all depends on the loaded weight of your trailer. However, 'H' rated just gives us that extra bit of margin when the roads get rough and we see bouncing. We have a 42 ft Montana 3901RK so we're pretty heavy. Our unit is a 2023 and came with G rated tires, but I see they now come with H rated so maybe the factory is finally engineering in some safety factor.
