We just installed the Roadmaster Comfort Ride and Shock suspension on our 3531RE. We also installed the Morryde X-Factor cross braces on the front and rear spring hanger brackets. Install went very good but had to have some ubolts made as the originals (that e-trailer told us to reuse) were too short. Upgraded to grade 5, 9/16 ubolts. Have not put a mile on it yet to test out but excited to see how it handles now.

Question is: has anyone installed or tried to install the x-Factor cross braces on the center hanger where the Roadmaster slipper hanger is? I’d like to stiffen that center part up too if it’s possible.

I just did the same upgrade on ours as well, I haven't thought about adding the 3rd brace to the center, I just did the 2. With the way the system bolts up to the frame I'm not sure it would help with any other support in the center, but couldn't hurt I would imagine. I may look into this a little and see, you got me thinking about it now.

We've towed the rig twice with this set up and there's a definite improvement in the ride. The recovery after the "bounce" is much faster (say going over a bad bridge transition). There's a lot less bounce on the rough roads, smoother ride and less pull on the truck while it recovers. It's a big improvement it how the rig handles the road over the factory system.

I called Roadmaster and talked with tech support. They did not have a recommendation. Their only real response was that they had not done that before and referred me to an installation shop that they had confidence in. That shop said the same. I have an idea of how to do it but really thought they may be more interested than they were.

Good to hear it really helps the ride. We have not had ours out yet since the install. Putting one in the center may not help but got the interest in watching the videos ( don’t remember if by etrailer or Roadmaster) showing on a suspension that still had the center equalizer design that people installed one there in addition to the front and rear.
I think that if the two small bolts that hold the bracket in place on the frame spring bracket is to only help hold it in place then the Morryde bracket could be modified to weld two tabs on either end at the top that could slip in the small space on each side of the center frame bracket between the frame and the Roadmaster bracket. It’s not much space but probably 3/16 or so. Enough to make a “L” shape at the top of the Morryde bracket. With that change and the using the larger 9/16 bolt that goes through the Roadmaster holding bracket frame mount that that would be plenty secure.

I'm going to look into this today, see what it looks like and see about planning something out that would work. Interesting enough to take some time to look at anyway. I have left over brackets ( I had to use a dropdown on the front) so I'll mess around with that and see what it would take to make it feasible to work.

Have to comment on the Roadmaster . My last two fifth wheels have been the same weight, and nearly the same length . The present one has the shocks , and Roadmaster suspension. Previous one had the MorRyde LRE suspension, and pinbox . No comparison , MorRyde far superior in every way , ride , handling , things inside the fifth remaining in place . IMO I would not go Roadmaster again , not worth the time , and money . Just my experience with two different suspensions. If I was to do it over it would be either IS, or MorRyde .

I had all three but when I added the Roadmaster they took the center down , hope that helps
I spoke with Roadmaster tech support. They did not have a kit to install the Morryde factor on their center bracket but they referred me to an installation company that does a lot of business with them. This company said that they had installed the xfactor a few times on their center bracket center bracket but did not recommend a home install. In order to install, they drilled through the loadmaster bracket for the top two screws and replaced the 9/16x4 grade 8 bolt with a longer one. For the main bolt through the trailer bracket.

I’m going to attempt the install. I’ve ordered a few 3/8x1 self threading screws (just like those that came with the original RM kit that go through the frame holes we had to drill) for the upper two attachments) and longer 9/16 bolts to replace the other two. I’ll get to it in a few weeks and repost the results.

Too late for me. Already did the RM and shock install. I think I going to change out the pin box with Reese goosebox to help out the ride
