An RVer reported that after a rough construction section on Route 16 in Wyoming, a Magnum 2012-HX inverter stopped supplying AC power to the inverted outlets. They confirmed 12-volt power was present, AC voltage was entering the Magnum unit, there were no trouble codes, the reset button was not tripped, and the basement GFCI had no power.

Members suggested using the Magnum troubleshooting chart, checking all GFCI outlets including any downstream or oddly located ones, considering whether...

After a very rugged trip in Wyoming, inverter is not working. I have checked for 12 volt power and have it. Pulled wires out from wall and checked for voltage, have voltage coming into Magnum, but nothing coming out. Thinking from rough road it died. Was thinking of ordering Xentex 1800 to replace it. Any recommendations?

Here’s the troubleshooting chart from the manual.

You didn’t mention it but you might want to check the GFIC reset on output plug of the inverter.

Wondering if something came loose inside the unit but don’t know if it’s accessible.

Might be worth a call to the mfr.

It’s a 2012-hx. Has no power gfci in lower copartment.unit has no trouble codes. Reset button on unit was not triipped.. Part of route 16 was under costructio, no pavement, just dirt and lots of potholes!

The pic of the remote shows the inverter is on shore power at the moment, so the internal transfer switch should be passing shore power through the inverter to your various outlets.
Are you saying that you have no power at the inverted outlets with the two green lights, or are you saying that if you disconnect shore power, you don't get an amber light showing the inverter is producing AC from your batteries?
If no power with 2 green lights, there is probably a tripped GFCI plug. Ours is in our bedroom (not sure why Keystone chose that location, that's where it is).

I have no power to any of the inverted outlets gfci in basement has no power, I even pulled the power out side of inverter out of wall and disconnected it and have no power there either

my experience with magnum,
remove all power 12 v and 110.
reset button
reapply power and reset button again
beyond that the mfg would not fix or trouble shoot
mine further then admit it had failed and it was a 2013,
They said that was the previous company and not them...
I have lost any and all respect for MAGNUM/SENSATA
I'm moving on to VICTRON for a whole rig solution.

Where the 120v wires come out of the inverter and pass through the wall right at inverter, there is a large connector for the 120v on other side of wall that came slightly apart on ours causing the same issue. Have to take screws out of the wall at the top and can lean wall forward to gain some access

I have taken wires out of wall and tested them. I have power coming into unit, but nothing coming out. I disconnected both plugs to test. Also I have removed all power to unit and reset it. Remote in trailer shows it in bypass mode. I have called and emailed their support and never heard anything back. Basically I am at the point of thinking of replacing it with a Xantrex.
