My promised 3 day axle alignment will actually be 10 days due to shop personnel no show. Found this out after I delivered 5er. Anyway, I'm also getting new tires installed after the alignment and want to get new closed end lug nuts. BUT, 5er is 30 miles away so I can't measure OD. Does anybody know for certain what size lug nuts or OD of wheel studs my model has so I can order ASAP. We're getting too close to our departure date for UT and the PNW to have very many more delays. As usual, I should have started sooner.:(
Thanks for any help.

Wait till you go camping then take one off and take it to a parts store. Then buy an entire set and change them out one for one. Then take it back to the garage and ask them to torque them again.

If memory serves, there are either 1/2 inch or 9/16 inch studs depending on your axle rating. I think the 7K axles all have 9/16 studs. The lower weight rated axles could have 1/2 inch.

Thanks for the replies; I had tire shop put the original nuts back on and then I checked torque when I got home=about 80% correct with a couple pretty low-not terrible. I'll wait until we get back from trip in mid July and swap them out as suggested. Brakes and wet bolts will be due for inspection as well.

The lugs on my Montana are 3/4 inch. This is also the same size bolt used to secure my Lippert 6 point leveling system jacks. I bought that socket and a breaker bar specifically so I could move the jacks up. It turned out, the same socket fit the lug nuts on the tires. So, I decided to keep the breaker and the socket as a dedicated tool specific for tire removal. It's worked great, and I've used it a few times over the last 6 years.

They are 1/2" x 20 lugs on my 7K axles. But I don't have a HC and while, I would wait for an owner of one to verify, I would be surprised if your lug were not 1/2" x 20

Is that the diameter of the stud or the size of the socket?
A 1/2” bolt takes a 3/4” socket

Thanks, I just put originals back on and will replace in July when back from trip and can remove one, confirm size and get a set.
Thanks to all.
