Our new 37&1/4 came with a poor king size mattress. We are thinking about getting a sleep number mattress like the one we have in the stick house but ours in the house is a different size and does not have radius corners the question I have is it a must for the radius corners. I see camping world sells the size needed for the 5'er both ways square and rounded. And is the one camping world sells as good as the one we bought for the stick house.

We have the camping world radius corner sleep number mattress. It is a ton better than the original mattress that came with the Montana though not as good as the house one. The difference will honestly depend on which mattress you bought for the house. As I recall my house mattress cost approx $1000 more then the CW one. The issue I have with it is I can feel the foam separator between the air bags as well as the foam "frame" I'm going to buy a thick memory foam topper to try and make it a bit better. Having said that, it's well worth the money. I slept on the original mattress once then ran to CW to get the sleep number. No way the original was going to work for me. I'd have been crippled in just a few nights.

Many on this forum have switched to a standard size queen mattress. You can even get one from Costco. I just switched also, but have not yet slept on it yet. It feels 1000 times better than the king I had in the trailer.:)

I really need the king as I am 6'4"" and 270 the DW is right at 6' also so a queen just won't do the trick. We love our sleep number in the house but it is a much higher cost bed than what camping world offers. Oh yes I forgot to mention the 2 labs that love the sleep number to. I have not had the chance to get into a camping world store to check there mattress out. I know many members have changed there mattress so I look to you guys for advise.

BTW, I too am 6'4 but weigh a lot less @ 250lbs ;) JK. If you like the mattress in the S&B I'm sure you'll like the RV version. No back pain in the few months we've owned it. Three nights is my average time to pain with most mattresses. Like I said, it could probably use a better topper but i've been fine w/o it.

One of the things we decided on up front when purchasing our new rig was to have a King Size Premier RV Sleep Number bed installed at the beginning. Although we have only had the opportunity to experience it for a little over a week, we can say that we are not in the least bit disappointed with the selection. We elected for the radius model since that was how the OEM mattress was shaped and we wanted to use the original bedspread with the new mattress. I do not think the RV edition has the thickness of the home models (ours measures a little over 9" thick when inflated), but as mentioned it is extremely more comfortable than the OEM mattress. Some models, such as our old 3400 required the radius mattress because of potential interaction with the sink cabinet when the slides were retracted. You may have to look on your rig when the slides are retracted to see if there are any "pressure" points which require the radius style. Another consideration is to know that the mattress platform is notched on both sides at the foot, so if you elect for a square mattress, you will most likely have to replace the lower portion of the mattress platform. Bottom line, we are happy with our choice and do not regret the selection.
Bingo

We slept on the OEM Montana mattress for 3 months on our first attempt at Snow Birding. Needless to say, we ordered the CW sleep number on our way home that spring. When we changed to our SOB the Sleep Number was the first thing moved from the Monty to the SOB.
Even if you don't need the radius corners, it does make for easier access in the bedroom getting around the corners of the bed.

We took our s & b Sleep Number to our 'Tana when we went FT. We switched out the cheap king with the queen SN which has the square corners and we have no issue. I did cut down the plywood on each side to match the queen size and it give us more walk around room.

Good luck and Happy New Year!

We did away with the stock mattress with in a month of picking up our new rig. Bought the CW sleep number queen and am really happy with it. Sleep as comfortable in the rig as we do on our sleep number king we have had for over 5 years in the S&B.

Okay, time for a dumb question. What is a radius corner mattress? I have a 2014 3402RL and it has the King (72" x 80") standard mattress. I don't think it looks any different than any other mattress and it does not seem to have cut corners. The bed jams up against the drawers on the other side of the trailer when the slide is in. But there is nothing that is not straight as the wall/drawers.

We have a Sleep Number mattress at home and have been checking this option out on the CW site. For some reason it's cheaper at CW than at Sleep Number.

Thanks to all of you for the advice we are going to get the new mattress. 1 more question did any of you set up your mattress or did they come and set it up? I was working when they came and set ours up in the house so I have no idea how they did it. I am pretty sure I could figure it out with a little help. The radius corners mean rounded at the foot end not square mine is radius and looking at it it will not matter if it was a square corner just a bit easier to walk around. If the base is notched then I will stay with what is in the trailer.

A radius corner mattress has round corners at the feet end of the bed unlike most mattresses that have corners that are more squared off. It's like they have put a round table at the corner and shaped the bed around it, therefore "radius corner" is the term. It supposedly allows better walking around room especially for King Size beds in RVs.

The RV version is probably cheaper since it probably contains less material to make it lighter in weight than a house version.

I set it up. Doesn't take all that long and is very easy. Lay the big "bag" down (mattress housing), put the foam frame in the big bag, add the bladders, attach pump to bladders, put the foam on top, cut the corners, zip the bag, inflate, wonder why I paid the guys to setup the one in the stick house.

Our dealer set ours up, but the instructions come with the bed and it did not appear too difficult. Obviously, you will have to have a power supply for the pump. Our tech actually installed an outlet beneath the bed, so there are no visible signs of the bed controls. Make sure you get the wireless model remote as well.
Bingo

Okay, I went to look at the Monty and mine appears to be a Radius King mattress. They do a good job of making it look square with the comforter. That hangs square. So the question is, do I have to buy a Radius King Sleep Number mattress or will the normal RV Sleep Number mattress work?

The 3402 has the corner vanity cabinet that is similar to what was on our 3400. You will have to retract the bedroom slide and see how close the radius end of the mattress is to that cabinet. It the radius edge of the mattress is pressed against or close to the cabinet door, then I would say you should have a radius bed as a replacement. A regular square end mattress will press directly against the vanity cabinet doors which would obviously not be a good situation and would eventually cause damage to the vanity. Retract the bedroom slide and take a look see to verify if this is the case or not.
Bingo

So I see on the CW site they sell both the King Sleep Number and Radius King Sleep number, so I guess I can just go with a direct replacement of what I have. I like the idea of the dealer installing the receptacle under the bed to hide the pump. Who did yours? CW?

Wow, there appears to be 4 series available from sleep number and 2 from CW but they don't match up. CW sells the deluxe & premier, do you think that is the same as the classic & performance that you buy for the house?
