OK, I am trying to make sure I understand the replacement for my 2012 Level Up Touch pad. Some of the button have gotten reluctant to make sold contact. The On/Off isn't too bad as it just needs to make contact once. But the Front jack is twitchy and it takes pressing on the right spot to make it work consistently (and no, this is not a self-resetting CB issue). Additionally the Up/Down Arrows (on the left where you select what function you want) occasionally skips options. I want to replace the touch pad before it fails permanently somewhere where I can least afford it.

Here is a pic of my current touch pad. I can not find an identical replacement. It appears to be Part #421484.

I have searched the internet for a replacement and I find lots of #481424 replacements but they look different. The dimensions appear to be the same and all the same buttons are there, albeit in a different place. So is this the replacement for my 2012 6 point hydraulic Level Up Touch pad?

Lastly, and may most importantly, LCI wants $427.94 for a replacement #421484 yet there are a number readily available on Amazon for under $100. Is there an overriding reason to buy the LCI one?

TIA for your advice!

IMO I would not buy anything directly from Lippert unless it was the only place that had what I needed.. Either the ones off Amazon or the eBay listing would be where I bought that replacement level up control panel...

Short answer: your current part #421484 is still the correct, current replacement — it has not been superseded to a new number.

What Lippert shows

  • 421484 (LC421484) = current production control panel / touchpad
  • It already replaced older part #234802
  • Still listed by Lippert as an active SKU for Ground Control 3.0 and Level-Up hydraulic systems

Important clarification (this trips people up)

  • 421484 is the touchpad/control panel only (the keypad interface)
  • It is NOT the main control module (brain/ECU)

If you were expecting a “new updated number”

  • There isn’t a newer direct replacement — 421484 is the updated design
  • Lippert did redesign the style of the panel (better buttons/display), but kept the same part number

Thanks everyone! I will go for one of the non-LCI provided touch pads. And yes, I only need the touch pad (hopefully).

Here is one on eBay…says it is new…offer him $150 and see where it goes.

Thanks Mike, but that one doesn't have the LCI logo on it so I really doubt it is OEM. I went with one from Amazon (not the cheapest, but middle of the road) that will be here tomorrow. Mine still works (mostly) so I can test ti out and return if it has problems.

Oh yeah…I see what you mean…Chinese copy maybe?
It would be easier to spot the copies if they labeled them
correctly - like “Rippert Erectronic Revering”

In our family we refer to it as a “Ricky Mouse” item. We took the kids to Disney World/Fort Wilderness in our popup in the late 90s and one day we drove into Orlando and came across a weird little souvenir shop that had cheap Chinese knock-offs of Disney stuff, and the sad little mouse doll was named Ricky Mouse. It was funny at the time and the reference stuck!…”That is a Ricky Mouse piece of junk!”

Did you find a part number on yours?

I will as soon as the rain here stops. I should be able to install tomorrow.

To tell the truth, I didn't remove it to look on the back. But for sure there is no part number on the front of the pad. I am going with the part number that LCI uses even though they changed the look along the way. There were enough reviews to convince me the replacement will fit.

I swapped out the Touch Pad today. I did kill the 12V and 120V power so there was no chance of any electrical surprises. The first trick is to use a small screw driver to depress the tab at the center/top of the display. That allows the top of the pad to pop out and it then lifts up from the mounting bracket.

Remove the wiring plug from the rear of the touch pad. The new touch pad had slightly different contour corners and didn't fit well into the existing support bracket. I removed the original bracket by removing the four corner screws and screwed in the support bracket that came with the new touch pad.

The new touch pad dropped into the bottom slots and snapped into place with no further issue. I exercised all of the Level Up functions to ensure everything worked.

No I did not. Here is a pic of the backside of the original LCI touch pad. No model number that I recognized. The replacement didn't have an identifier either. The one I replaced it with was this from Amazon:

421484 Rv Electronic Leveling Control Panel Compatible with lippert RV 5th Wheel and Travel Trailer Leveling touchpad for Ground Control TT with Auto-Leveling Button
