We took the metal shelving strips that I bought at one of the big name hardware stores that you clip metal shelf brackets to and put them in nearly all cabinets. The strips come in about three foot length and I just cut the strips to the length we needed for each cabinet. I either used screws to hold the strips on if I had enough solid wood in the cabinet or I used multiple length small flathead bolts with lock nuts on the other side of the cabinet or attached another strip to it and added more shelves in the next cabinet. The clips are removable and you can adjust the shelving, which I built out of 1/2" plywood and stained, to whatever height you want to have your shelves spaced at. We also put rolling storage drawers in the lower cabinets by the store which works great for storage of pots, pans, and other larger items.
