A member asked whether Keystone Montana was dropping In-Command Global for 2027 models after a dealer in Elkhart said it was being discontinued due to ongoing issues. Other members noted that the current Montana website build options no longer show In-Command or the former Legacy package, and the original poster later reported that Keystone Customer Care confirmed In-Command is no longer being used in Keystone products.

I have a friend who is interested in ordering a 2027 Montana. He was just told by a dealer in Elkhart that Keystone Montana 2027 rigs will no longer have In Command (Global). The dealer told my friend that Montana has been having lots of issues and decided to do away with In Command. Has anyone heard anything about Montana doing away with In Command for 2027 models?

There is nothing related to In-Command on the Keystone Montana website "build" process. In fact, I believe In-Command was previously only part of the Legacy package, and it doesn't appear that Legacy exists anymore either. They have moved to a single package with options only for generator, solar, full body paint, appliances, windows and slide awnings.

My 2018 came with ProPlus InCommand - maybe 2nd or 3rd generation of InCommand??
I think it went like this...
1. Pro - wireless connection to BCM
2. Pro - wired connection to BCM
3. ProPlus - wired connection to BCM
4. Global Connect -

ProPlus only controls lights and slides...does NOT control air conditioners, furnace, or water heater. I can connect my phone via bluetooth. InCommand screen has wired connected to the BCM (not wireless). It has always worked well.

I started noticing threads in this forum discussing issues when the Gen 4? Global Connect InCommand version came out in 2020 (I think)...which tries to control LOTS more systems than mine.

We had In-Command in the Legacy package 5th wheels and hated it. First generation we had was Blue Toothed and then later it was hard wired. Had quite a few issues, especially with the Blue Tooth, and in our newest Montana we were happy to see In-Command gone. Sometimes modern technology isn't the best! Keystone had lots of complaints and issues with the system. At one instance my husband, who is a great "troubleshooter", had to tell ASA, the makers of In-Command what the problem was and how to fix it. They thanked him for it.

Respectfully yours,
Laura Thorsell

Follow-Up:
I spoke to Keystone Customer Care by phone this morning after posting this thread. They confirmed that In Command is no more for Keystone products. I have currently in my 2018 Montana 3921FB Legacy the In Command Pro Plus. I can honestly say that I have really enjoyed the functionality in my Montana. My new 5th Wheel (2027 Brinkley G4170, which begins production June 3) has the FireFly system which does have Bluetooth & WiFi capabilities to control multiple systems. I was really surprised to hear that Montana was going away from a system which allows control of RV systems via Bluetooth and WiFi.

I agree, my 2025 Legacy has In Command with Global Connect (WiFi) and Bluetooth. With somewhere around 12K miles and 250 nights, the unit has performed great. Sure, there have been a few reboots (2 I think) but what computer or phone doesn't need that these days? I like the fact that I can turn lights on if it's gotten dark since we've been away, or turn up/down the A/C or heat from anywhere in the world. Keystone will introduce something in the future if their competitors are doing it - hopefully with voice commands!

I full time RV. I had a 2016 which was the first year for In-Command. After the main board was replaced with hardwire to the display it worked fine.. My 2025 3761FL has global and I really like it. No problems at all and I like that I can check my rig when I am away to make sure the heat/AC is running OK while I am away and my 2 dogs are home. Also, as mentioned turn on lights remotely when away to make it looked lived in. I often turn on the awning lights when I pull in the driveway for better visibility I hope they come up with something before I decide to upgrade again. I might just take a serious look at Brinkley. I know a lot of Montana owners that have switched to Brinkley already.

i personally am a big fan of in-command. Use my phone more than the console. It, or something similar, would be high on my list of must haves if I was shopping for a new RV. Would probably be a deal breaker if not available.

Found after posting this

“The Keystone Montana website has updated its build options, and In-Command is no longer listed. This indicates a significant change in how Keystone is structuring its models for 2027. The previous Legacy package, which included In-Command, is also no longer available”

I could see a Brinkley in our future.
