JBL ARC Audio Not Working With Connex TV in Montana RVs

Has anyone had a problem with the sound from the TV not coming through the speaker system on a 2025 Montana 3123 RL Legacy? I have a JBL receiver and Connex TV and it is properly installed with an HDMI cable from the JBL to the HDMI/ARC input on the TV. I can get the FM to produce sound through the speakers, but when I try to watch TV and switch to ARC on the JBL remote, I have no sound unless I switch the TV sound back to the TV speakers. I've done all of the trouble shooting in the JBL manual to no avail, Please advise if you have had the same problem and found a solution.

Joe - this issue has been discussed in lots of threads here…sometimes the names of the Chinese junk TVs and the stereo change. I got mine to work but in year 2 or 3 bought a Samsung TV and a Bose Solo speaker from Sams and bypassed the built in unit. My radio only works for FM…never for AM radio. I predict you will follow that path at some point.

Thanks for your reply. I'm going to try a Samsung TV with the JBL. If that doesn't work, I'll buy a Bose sound bar. You would think that Montana would have corrected this issue as I had the same problem on a 2024 3123 RL that we recently sold.

Mine does it too..... quite often. I just do a reset on the receiver(by poking a stick in to the hole below the arrows) and then turn back on and hit the ARC button.

I hava a 2022 with the same setup, I push the AUX 2 button on the remote for TV sound.

I found momentarily removing the12v fuse in the fuse box to kill power to JBL restored ARC function. I didn't know about the reset pin hole on the front of the unit, guess I will look for that next time. Glad to know what others have done, thanks.

Question, are stereo won’t even turn on. We’ve tried completely disconnecting power from the RV and reconnecting, pushing the reset pin, holding the buttons to reset is the in line fuse the only other thing we need to check? we have a 2026 3795FK Legacy with the JBL stereo and Connex TV.

Your rig is a 2026??? Did it work during the purchase demonstration at the dealer? How long have you owned the rig? This seems like a warranty issue.

I have this same exact issue. I replaced the HDMI cable thinking it was faulty and that the radio didn't recognize it but I have the same issue. The only way I've gotten it to work with the ARC function is by unplugging the cable at the rear of the radio itself (after I removed the screws and pulled it out) and then plugged it back in. It only works for that single time and needs to be done again. I have a new 2025 unit.

We own a 25’ 3795FK and have the same problem. We had the JBL replaced and still nothing. I have done resets and power downs but whatever you do it will be temporary. The only solution I can see is replace the TV and or replace the JBL. Horrible setup on such an “up class” 5th wheel.
