Been getting the Montana for the long trip north. Checked the tire psi and got grease into all my wet bolts. Oh if you got stubborn bolts that you are having trouble getting grease into, get on down to Harbor Freight and for $18 get yourself a air grease gun. I still had one real stubborn one but once I jacked it up to remove some weight it went in. Also checked the water in the batteries. But the morning we went to leave I went to pull in the slides and nothing???????? I had unplugged the power to make sure the frig switched to gas so I plugged it back in. Well bedroom slide came in but the livingroom just went errrrrummmph and nothing. Hmmmmmm I figured maybe I broke or looseded a wire to the batteries. I have 2 batteries and figured both can't be dead or shot. Once I opened up the boxes and started checking the connections here one of the positives had the white crusties??? Didn't see it when I topped off the water but yep it was all corroded. A little wire brush action and we were off with not much of a delay.

Glad it was a minor issue, but you're right in RVing it's always something.

Here is a little trick that I learned a long time ago, don't even remember when but if you take 3 or 4 pennies and lay them on top of your batteries they will collect the corrosion and will stick out like a sore thumb when you look at your batteries and let you know how bad the corrosion is. Worth a try!!!

I am nuts but! I take my Montana in after every trip or 3500 miles. They check everything and it costs about $200.00. Why $200, because they always "find something" and that's my deductable on the extended warranty, per service call! Cheap insurance and great for resale records! I keep her The Montana" looking new with Woolfgang Wax sealers. It pays to address everything ! On my recent trip, I found willing young peope to wash truck and camper 5 times! Yes, I am nuts! Everyone knows a clean truck and camper performs better! I have neighbor kid who washes and waxes mine for $90.00 yes $90.00 showed him how one time ... He is about to Go off to college ( we are going to help him) time to train another! Lol

If it wasn't so far, I would bring my rig over. It sure could use a good scrubbing and wax. We have been on the road over a month and it seems to rain everywhere we go

Careful what you say. With an offer like that you could start your own Rally.

I'ver also got one stubborn zert that I could not grease into. Will try jacking up trailer and see if that works. Haven't been lubed since installation (oops).

The basic RV is always in one of the following three conditions...not in any particular order:

- It just broke.

- I just fixed it.

- It's getting ready to break.

LOL LOL.....yeah batteries are fine now but just noticed my main slide is about an inch to inch and a half different in the two sides when extended....so looks like we got to adjust it now....
